Bodywork crazing - A question !

Having just back in from waxing my motor I notice that a `new` small crazing has `occured` on my bonnet ! yuk !!
Its about 1 inch across.
I did have another patch on the bonnet when I bought the car which had been `painted over`. This patch has never changed shape or size.
So is it better to,
A) Leave it alone
B) Paint over the cracks like the other one
C) Clear tape over it
D) Go back to the previous owner and ask him to pay for it !
Any advice greatly recieved.

They all do it in the end. I have discovered some on mine in recent weeks. I'm changing the shocks and springs all round (It aint sitting quite right) and re-hanging the passenger door at some point before the spring comes as mine seem to be situated around the indicator on the passenger side. May seem a little excessive but want to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse.
If it's only small, which it sounds like it is I'd be tempted to leave it and see if you can find the cause, repairing it could prove very costly only for it to return. If it's on the bonnet, is it where bonnet cathces meet one another ? They may not be flexing properly etc etc

I never noticed any crazing on the bonnet apart from the star I pointed out to you.... so it was eithervery well hide as its taken you 8 months to find it or its new
any painting was done by the prevoius owners.....i never bought any paint ... and pointed you to the area that I had been touched up and repaired on the door.
Note : the bonnet twists every time you shut it due to catches on both sides need to be locked indidually.
Monitor it..... if it's still spreading get it sorted properly.. ground out and drilled if need be..... just cos the gel is crazing it does not mean it further spread in the fibre glass.....
bonnet will cost circa £500 to have done properly..... cost me £1k to have the rear of my Griff done.....

Only kidding about you paying for it !!
Just checking if you still read these threads !
The whole of the bonnet is stunning apart the star you pointed out when I bought it.
Funnily enough, the `new` star is the same size as the old one and the other side of the bonnet. Not bad enough to have a complete respray yet.
But I am not sure if these things are best left alone or touched up !

Good point. Its right above the battery. I will have a look first light !

My bonnet is starred above the battery as well.
Take photos of any crazing to check if its getting any worse.
Normally it will occur when the car is about 10 years old and the body has fully settled with the chassis and will then get no worse.
The crazing on my 18 year old S1 hasn't altered in 5 years of ownership and I have the pics to prove it.
It can be a difficult to get rid of crazing and if not done properly will soon return.
IMHO its best left as original patina on a classic.
