36-1 timing wheel

I am looking for a suitable timing wheel to fit the front of my Small Block Chevy V8. I require a 36-1 tooth format compatible with a VR type sensor for use with fuel injection. Does anyone know of a suitable off-the-shelf part that would fit?

Practical Performance Car have adapted a Ford trigger wheel with the 36-1 format in this months mag. I'm sure you could do the same, it's ford part no. 1078767 and is only £13.

I have 36-1 wheels which I fit on the crank inside my LSx build ups. They are big diameter though, appx 8". The i/d is pretty big as well. Would one of those weld onto the rear of your pulley? If so give me a shout.

Well after a little jacking up and crawling around underneath I have come to the conclusion that the standard 36-1 toothed wheel suggested above will probably do the job.
I think I will be able to mount it to the back of the damper to just clear the timing cover, although the tooth length may need to be reduced slightly. This will allow the VR sensor to mount very close to the cover/block thus reducing any chance of wobble from the sensor bracket.

He's been talking about getting larger 7.25" and 8.25" wheels which would be ideal for us. I was wondering about getting a 7.25" wheel and attaching it between my damper and the block using longer pulley bolts. This seems the best place to put it to keep the VR sensor mounted firmly like you say.
