He is selling the car now but not with that engine. He's putting a more tame 350bhp cossie engine in it.

Dollie's are 975 kilos dry. Darrens is probably lighter, I would imagine its around 800bhp per tonne.

It really is a very trick car.

How the hell do you get a Cossie to make those numbers when an Eddenberger / Rouse RS 500 only made about 550!?

Same lump (more power) to the Nuts TVR S that spank all bak in the late 80's / early 90's at Macau.

NUTS..

Ya but the block was the weak link wasn't it - 500 block stonger - someone needs to get one of these in a modern TVR - i.e. 350 or tuscan with blown engine. Awesome.

Most racing regs - only allow so much boost.. FI was quiet unrestrained for a while 'til the bhp limits were at 1200 bhp for a 1.2 litre lump..

boost is more about containment (will rings, block strength) than about finesse (1200 bhp BWM running a stock block in F1)..

Gotta ask the question why he wants a Cerb 4.2 lump.. ?

Darren's not the one wanting a cerb engine. He's moving onto a new project and flogging the red dolly that you see.

Phil Reader is the guy doing the cerb transplant into a Sprint and he's halfway there by the sounds of it.

Hello there
The engine in question has done 5000 miles at this power level
Im going back with the boost turned up as i was only running
1.8 bar of boost so there is about another 40 hp in it
There is a cosworth engine currently on 20 .000 miles exactly the same specification as mine
Its come a long long was since the touring cars
There is also a 1000 hp cosworth engine out there but that is just a drag engine

Just staggering. I am not really into classics, the only ones I would like being a Dolly Sprint, SD1 Rover (Twin Plenum Vitesse, of course) or a Sierra RS 500. Got the Sierra and this Dolly is just fabulous. I want a Cossie Dolly so much it aches...!!! Awesome.
