Anthony's mother just told the press that she forgives the killers for what they did to her son, what an amazing woman!
Her Christian beliefs never gave in to the anger and rage that most mothers or parents would have felt if the same thing happened to their children.

It is disgraceful that an innocent boy ,who had a good future, and was a likeable lad, could have his life cut short by a scum bag with an ice pick because of the colour of his skin in this day and age.

I just hope the killers will both rot in jail and never get the chance to be free again.

I will be interested to see the minimum tarrif, for such a vicious unprovoked attack you would hope it would be at least 25 years, but we will see.

The problem is one of them is 17, therefore , they will have to increase the sentence at a later stage if it's been proved his actions were racially motivated.

So what exactly does the minimum tariff mean?

DOes this mean regardless of good behaviour etc the criminal MUST stay in for XX years?

Precisely, many of these psycho killers convince the authorities concerned (parole board) with their so-called good behaviour to release them early only to commit similar crimes within days of their release.

The tariff is the real sentence they serve; a 'life' sentence is meaningless words.

It's great that she forgave them, and it will help her greave, and get over it sooner I would imagine. it's just a shame her god did not find the time to bother stopping it at the time.

I don't agree with a higher sentence for the crime being 'racially motivated' what difference does it make. They carried out an unprovoked assault with a deadly weapon on a kid waiting at a bus stop, that should mean they spend the rest of their lives, or most of it, in jail, not their motivations.

There was a murder t'other week and 3 asian chaps were sent down for it. It was not racially motivated as they attacked a black dude, and an asian dude as well. I wonder if their sentence would have been longer had they not attacked the other 2 people? It makes no sense. Attack 3 people and you would get less than if you attacked 1 person.

This idea of labelling a crime racist causes more problems by highlighting a nebulous point. A Crime is a crime and doesn't need the 'racist' addition any more than driving without due care and attention needs the addition of 'whilst on a mobile phone'

She is an amazing woman, and it chokes me somewhat but i still struggle to see how people can be at two extremes of the scale.

On one hand we have a heartless, cold bloooded killer that sticks an ice pick in someones head ..and on the other there is a woman that can forgive such a heartless killing of her son.

Without Knowing Anthony Walker you can only guess what a fine outstanding individual this country has lost through the actions of his mother.

RIP Anthony Walker.

Lets just hope the judge can carry the responsibilies of this countries laws well upon his shoulders when it come to sentencing.

Why was it his Mother's fault!?!

EDIT: Oh bugger... realised that sentence can be read two ways - and I guess you meant the other way, sorry

Well Said, RIP! Theres no way I would be able to hold back the anger if this had happened to a loved one of mine.

^^^

I too will be interested in the judgement in relation to the UCL student attacked and killed by 3 Asians.

seriously..
Is there some kind of hierarchy for want a better word?
if i got mugged and stabbed is that a 'mugging', but if i had the size of my genitalia called into question by my black assailant would the incident then become a 'racially motivated' incident..?

i don't think it's any worse for me to be attacked for wearing glasses and looking 'un-hard' than for someone of a different race being attacked for that reason - attacking people is deplorable full-stop.

Totally agree with you , racial motivation should not tip the scale one way or another when it comes to sentencing,.Killing an innocent human being in cold blood without provocation should take priority in sentencing over the colour of the victim's skin.

Are there worse motives than others? is revenge worse than racil? Is racial worse than random? At the end of the day a killer is a killer, and all that has to be discovered is if it was pre-meditated, or spontaneous.

'Racial Motivation', Those seem to be the new buzz words for the leacherous media to scream, possibly for financial gain to sell more papers, trouble is, the less intelligent believe this guff. All this achieves is incereases in racial tensions that wern't there before, I am sure the media and its 'luvvies' are perpetuating hate in their misguided 'crusade' to stamp it out, muppets!
