Following micheal caine around Snetterton at the "Monster" trackday!

...and he was only 0.5s faster than me in a Sagaris!

(mind you, i was ringing the neck of mine and he was show-boating! I'm sure if he'd wanted to he would have disappeared )

Ditto, camping in Pembrokeshire on a coastal walking holiday last summer.
1. Whenever I fired her up for the drive into town, all the kids stopped whatever they were doing and dads poked their heads round the tent door and called to their lads "come and see this!".
2. Lounging on my camp bed to hear the mother in the tent next to my tiv say to her inquisitive kids "don't dare touch that car........it's probable worth more than our house!"
3. Hearing a bloke walking past to remark to his missus "not only does it look fantastic, is sounds superb!"
Really makes you swell with pride.

we've had the car since March and we've done so many memorable things
convoys, tunnel runs, meets, days out.

But the CREAM event definately was the best so far, it had everything, convoy, tunnels, BIG meet, day/night out, cerb trackday, great people and all on my birthday too

and I'm sure there are going to be plenty more in the future

LeMans via the Loire Valley.

If I ever beat that for a drive, I'll be amazed.

Giving it maximum berries through the tunnel at Bouillion. Sorry Mr. Belgian Traffic Cop.

The voices made me do it.

The drive to Courchevel and back in the Tuscan for a ski trip at New Year, with a couple of higlights within it:
1. Maximilian Cooper (organiser of Gumball) stopping in the street to say "your TVR looks cool with snow chains on. And really cool with a snowboard on the passenger seat!"
2. Making it from Courchevel to Calais (634 miles) in 6 hours 20 minutes, including stops. Allegedly.

I'll never forget the first time I heard my new TVR's engine back in February.

But, the most vivid memories are the first and second times my throttles stuck wide open and I became a reluctant passenger.
1. Emerging from roundabout, brief stab of gas in 2nd gear before shortshifting to 3rd. Sudden realisation that I was gaining about 15mph per second. Presence of mind not to drop clutch (would buzz motor) or switch off engine (would lose steering) ...braked instead. Emerged from roundabout with rear wheels spinning and fronts locked in a huge cloud of smoke until throttles released. Workmen in pickup truck sat with mouths wide open at the sight of it. Nearly as wide open as mine was. Faaaaark.
2. Late at night, cold greasy and narrow sharp left turn under a single-carriageway railway bridge. Same thing again, stab in 2nd, throttles latched open. Car starts bucking like a bastard. With considerably less surface traction than the last time braking against the full force of 5 litres of berserk AJP seemed to have little retarding effect other than to encourage the car to fishtail. Brother in passenger seat thought I was show-boating until he saw the look of horror on my face. He's refused to get in the Boss since.

Then there are the times I stuck the bloody things wide open for the hell of it. Oh, the spine tingling noise through 5,000 rpm with wide open throttles. Kirkistown track day with the Boss was special too ... and Monster, although by then I was a lot more circumspect about "the throttle issue".

Actually, including 4 months of swapping between my Cerberas and TVR's press Sagaris' and Tuscans (not to mention 1,000 miles in a Tamora - BRILLIANT!), a very memorable year of TVR motoring. Clarkson's feedback on the Sagaris, first hand, was special too. Ditto the Autocar journalist who phoned within 5 minutes of collecting a Sagaris to rave down the phone about, well, everything - grunt, quality, handling.

You just can't beat TVRs for excitement can you?

Charging down the old pit straight at Reims. A Sunday morning, no-one about, warm and sunny!! The best! The boot full of champagne helped too!

There's been so many this year but definitive weekend had to be BNG up in York, was great to hoon around Yorkshire and gather with so many other owners at the Eye of York for a rumble through town. The look on the locals faces as over 100 over us rumbled, popped and growled through town! Brilliant

Down to the Loire Valley this year D roads all the way. Fantastic weather and much appreciation from the locals when I blatted through their sleep hamlets on the way down. At least I think it was appreciation-certainly they were waving a lot. Then lots of cruising about Anger and the coastline listening to the Wheeler Symphony number 6 first movement all throbbing bass and whispering cams before a sharp blat back to the Manor house where we were staying listening to the forth movement wailing away across the French countryside.
You can get a lot of wine in a T350 if you leave your luggage in the wifes car as well.

I'll be going back as well-if you want to try somewhere new. I stayed at a friends 16th century Manor house complete with walls a moat, geese, local wine on tap by the barrel load and a high speed internet connection for Piston Heads. Gail is a wonderful host , used to run her own retaurant in the UK and her partner Alan is a top bloke as well.

OK thanks.

I havent started planning it yet but if you want to email me their details I'll put them in the mix. We like to stay a couple of nights at each place and move on.

We found a great little Chateau in Monhoudou near Alencon last year. 6 rooms, 12 guests, communal dinner, fantastic food and all booze included. It was like a really great dinner party each night and we crawled into bed around 2 each morning. The place in my photo above, The Domaine de La Tortiniere near Tours is also v good.

Hearing the engine coming up the road when it came back from being in the garage for 4 weeks. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and I was stood there waiting for it grinning like an idiot.

Driving the cerb for the first time on my own without my husband sitting next to me. Took me about 2 miles to relax my grip on the steering wheel and actually relax and enjoy it.

Filling it for the first time, standing in the queue waiting to pay, and two blokes came past the car then started looking at the queue to see who they thought owned it. The looks on their faces when I got in and started it up. Priceless.

Looking forward to next summer, we got ours at the end of the summer, so am looking forward to a full summers driving.
