Need a bit of help and pointing in the right direction.

I need a low cost pabx system which can run two cordless phones. All i need is the ability for a box to take in two telephones lines and ring two cordless phones with an individual ring for each line.

Any ideas?

I have just thrown out a Panasonic pabx which had 6 lines in and 12 out, but no 'normal' phone cards, only 'system phones' (6 of them).

If all you want is two phones on two lines, just buy two phones but set the ringing tones differently.

edited to add:

Keep your eye on this, there are always plenty of old pabx's on ebay

Two lines on the same number or two different numbers?

Yep as Simon says plenty of cheap PABX's on eBay that will do what you need. Panasonic make some great low commercial, prosumer models.

Alternatively you could go for a VOIP PBX with wireless handsets via a wireless router.

Worst case scenario is that I buy another set of cordless phones and do exactly that except with two handsets on each desk.

The existing DECT phones have their own ring tones so I'm not sure what the second ring tone would sound like. Have a feeling the current base unit just looks for a high signal and rings the handsets regardless.

Good suggestion, BT Featureline will suite you down to the ground.
