Ultima GTR - carbon fibre seats (no head space) help me !!

Dear all,
sorry for my english, I leave in Italy and own this great Ultima GTR

The problem is that I have very little space for my head in the
cockpit and I cannot drive with an helmet..
I was thinking to buy this great seats I had in my Caterham CSR 200
(they are the most comfortable seats I tryed !)

Do you think they will give me more space ? Do you suggest other
seats or tips to solve the problems ? I cannot drive the car
in the circuit because I cannot drive with the helmet. I am 1.90 cm..

Look under the car, if you have the dropped floor you will see it 50mm lower than the rest of the car where the driver and passenger seats are.
If not then the whole of the underside will be flat.

The only thing that I can think of is taking your gtr to a race supply shop, and getting an aftermarket seat trial fitted. You will need to have some arraignment were you can lay the seat back using a fixed back racing bucket, to get some more head room, you might have to move it slightly forward to do this, and get some side mounting plates. I hope you legs have enough room around the steering wheel for your knees, then you can just bolt it in for track days.

As a guide the front edge of the seat should just clear the ali skinned floor by a few mm if the seat were pushed right forward. From your picture it is obvious that your seats are sitting way too high. Your first job is to see if you can reduce the mounting height of your seat runners or if you are the only driver then do away with the runners and bolt the seat direct to the floor.

owner that has factory seats if I will fit better..

I recognise that car.
They are definatelly not factory seats, they are the same that I used in my car (admittedly I modded mine to be more upright). The factory seat will give you an extra 1-2inches of headroom as they are reclined more in the lower back.
BTW they wont go any lower... your only real option is factory seats.

I tryed this evening the factory seat on other GTR and they
are perfect ! Maybe not comfortable as Tillet carbon fibre seats
I had on Caterham CSR 200, but I am sure I fit even with helmets !
Tomorrow I will order to the factory !
Now I am happy.. Thank you to everybody that helped me solve
this problems.

Thats realy nice to see MY GTR again.... if not a bit heart renching....
The car was not fitted with a factory lowered floor. I was told that I did not need it because I'm only 5'8". But once I had fitted the body work and seats I realised it needed a lowered floor. At the time I asked the Factory how much lower did the lowered pan go. They said over the phone 25mm. So I had a Lowered galvanised pan madeup and cut out the flat floor and welded the new one in.
I now know they are 30mm lower so thats 5mm you haven't got.
I would recomend you fitt the Factory seats, as they will give you another 10mm head room...
If you want some more photo's or any other info on the car I have loads of photo's including the Build etc...
Have fun but please Keep it in one Piece.....

You've bought that car from mythoscars Italie? I saw that car on sale at www.autoscout.de the car with the stripes, they talk about a 6.3L with 600hp...
They also have a new Ultima GTR on sale a 2005 one...also 6.3 but then 550hp a nice black example(I like black) but asking price is 92.000,- can't handle that money
