More probs with my 111R
Discussion
OK, so here I go again, anyone had this prob and know what the solution was ?
MIL keeps coming on, 4 times in the last 6 weeks, 3 of those in the last 10 days.
Westovers have taken a look and thought they had fixed it when they found part of the wiring loom protective sheath had worn away and also part of the wiring. So that was replaced, but the light can back on again Saturday.
Last 2 occasions have both been in heavy traffic with a lot of stop starting and not going over about 15mph. The engine was warmed up too.
Any ideas ?

Do not know but I feel as you because I have the same problem. Mil light on because of lean mix at cold which seems to come from too low idle speed. So Lotus dealer remap the ECU. Then Mil light again at 92 °c it was the lambda probe.
Now it come again when warm and the idle speed is still very erratic.
I am really dispointed because I change my esprit for an elise due to poor reliability but it looks like I received a wrong number.... again.
It wouldn't be so bad if I was leaving closer than 1.5 hours drive from the dealer... Never took so much the train since I own a Lotus....
Was thinking moving to another car but the belgian tax system will kill me a second time... So I have to fix it...
Another question. From your post I understand the light comes off spontanously. Is this the case and after wich delay? I red that the ECU needs 40 checks without default before to clear the light off

Yep, light went out after 4th start I think, possibly 5th.
To be honest the Dealer is doing all that they can to sort it. The error code that the system gave was synonimous with the fault they fixed i.e. the worn wiring loom causing a short.
Problem is that the MIL still came after the fix and they have the same error code. Dealer in in the process of contacting Lotus to see if they have anything more. If not, its back to good old detective work.
Wonder what courtesy car I'll get this time. Hope its the Freelander again.

I also feel that my dealer is doing its best but even with the help of Lotus' inspector, he is changing one thing at the time and I am making the test back home to go back when it is wrong. I hate that motorway and other roads are full of camera
