Well, evening wedding reception to be precise. All I can say is, the wife and I are glad to be back, albeit a bit earlier than most of the others! In summary, my hairdresser wanted us to come to her evening doo. I suspect it's because I tip her well so she was guaranteed a decent gift (which she got)! So, I've just endured:

Three hours of deafening "YMCA", "Lady in Red", "It's Raining Men", and other classics!

Dozens of pierced, Miss Whiplash, impersonators.

A food fight, including paper plates and plastic cutlery thrown in for good measure.

Shrieking laughter from middle-aged slappers spilling out of their size 16 strapless dresses.

An argument between the barman and the best man about a 20p discrepency.

So now I'm home, reeking of cheap cigarettes, and enjoying a pleasant glass of red wine in my comparatively quiet abode.

Go on you loved it really.

Heading home on a Friday afternoon via an industrial estate the other week,
I reached the head of a long mysterious queue, at 4PM'ish
A nasty looking mock-up supposed to be cindrella's horse-drawn carriage. with two chav-occupants gazing at the
industrial scenery, and for all the world,
looking like the hapless victims trapped inside some monstrous hamster ball

oh for a camera

I've been on a few PH runs in the Tiv which was great, but the thought of sitting in a hotel restaurant in tie and jacket does nothing for me! Having said that, it would heve been preferable to the last few hours I've just endured.

as opposed to expensive ones. I see what you mean, the smell is so much better.

If it was going to be so bad, why did you go?

I had no idea it would be like it was. She's a nice lady, and I'd never met him - until tonight! I think the more colourful characters were from his side. The moment we walked into the hall, the wife looked at me with that "it won't be a late night" look. She was right about that!

Mrs Kinky & I have a code-word for this - iguana - if it crops up in conversation - that's our cue to go ASAP.

The funniest ever was when I took her to meet an an old mate of mine for the 1st time. He opened the door and she whispered it under her breath.

I think me and the ex- had a similar safety word. Well, she'd say "You're not putting *that* in *there*" and I'd go and sleep on the sofa. Is that the same thing?
