I have to share this with someone........ just got back to my desk after lunch and let off a great big.....pwarrrrhhhhuuuppp post lunch guff.

I was sitting contentedly at my desk when a french female colleague walks in to discuss something...and says ( you have to imagine the french accent here )

"hmmmmm I smell Vanilla"

It was all I could do to keep a straight face.

Oh I don't know, it was just the sweet way she said it in her little francais voice.

And no it really didn't smell of vanilla, at least not to me.

Are you cube based then?

I always had this image of you viewing 12 monitors in a very noisy open plan office with a phone over each shoulder and one stuck to your ear.

No, I mean I don't see the problem

My daughter farts like a trooper. Her mum exclaims in disgust while I sit and snigger

I think it was as much the fact that it was this impeccably turned out, chic little french girl, and that she obviuosly smelt something odd, nose processed it as a fart....brain rejected the diagnosis and suggested something more acceptable...'vanilla' for some reason, and overruled nose.

What was funny as feck was the bemused expression on her face whilst all of this occured

That reminds me of some talk show where the guests were Billy Connolly and some posh bint, and BC remarked that something or other was "about as welcome as a fart in a space suit". Watching the posh bint trying not to find it funny, failing, and gradually dissolving completely in giggles was a classic.
