I've heard their customer service sucks - they always let you down!

North london parachute centre?

I assume you don't actually jump out over north london? Your chute would be stolen before you landed!

Has anyone got a website/number for these guys, as I haven't tried them.
Really want to get the old man a parachute jump for his birthday, but he's around 16.5-17 stone and everyone is saying he's too heavy!

Cheers.

Never been there but heard good reports especially for tandems, you don't get bad DZs in terms of safety only ones with slow aircraft ! The tandem master who'll be jumping withe your son will be very highly qualified so don't worry on that part. Good idea to pay a bit extra for the video, not only does it give jr something to keep, it also makes for a better jump.

Oh and if you're doing a jump at this time of year, bear in mind it'll be fing cold, if ground temp is 0 C then at 13000 feet it'll be -26 and then factor in windchill !

Check out dropzone.com for all info including DZ reviews.

Thanks for the info Hilts. As an aside, what is the temp at 13000 during the summer?

I did a tandem at the weekend at St Andrews in Scotland and it was the most amazing buzz, better than bungee jumping to the point I am thinking of doing the accelerated freefall course next year.

Very hard to describe, quite surreal looking down from thousands of feet and then rolling out of the plane, a few somersaults, freefall then chute opens and float/fly towards the landing zone, absolutely fantastic, I felt slightly apprehensive which I guess is human nature but the instructors instilled great confidence and I would safely say they got a real buzz out of people enjoying it.

It is a must

Been answered I see! you don't really notice it though in the summer, the air smells fine !

Deffo recommend a videoman though, gives a good reference and something to look at during the dive apart from the ground, he'll get a quite a long canopy ride down to.
