The time is approaching for new tyres and I have always fitted Michelins as recommended. However The MXXX''s are no longer made and I''m looking for good grip (wet and dry) replacements. A tyre chap told me that PZeros are excellent grip tyres has anyone tried these on a M100 Elan SE?

P zeros have been found to be a liability on an Elise so would imagine it would be much the same with an Elan, P Zeros are pretty much considered old world technology in the tyre world...great in the dry, but let go far to easily in the wet, Bridgestone S02's seem to work well in the wet and the dry, but hurry as they've stopped making them now and stocks are drying up...

Have you thought about using Yokohama 539s, they are very good in the dry, with balanced handeling and in the wet they seem to be consistent in the fact you feel the brake away.

I have seen on several sites now that Pzeros seem to be not-so-hot in the wet on Lotus cars but fine on others. (Could this be due to the weight/distribution of the car?). On an M100 board they suggest sticking to the michelins and going for the Pilots. I will certainly consider the Yokohamas though. Thanks to all that have posted It is much appreciated.
