Ferrari or £100k
Discussion
My local radio station announced this morning that on christmas eve they are giving away a choice of either a Ferrari (no model announced) or £100k in cash.
Now was wondering if given the choice which would you go for?
Me personally, think it would have to be the cash, never been a big fan of Ferrari's, although my husband would probably kill me.
edited to say its a Ferrari F430

Well, I suppose we should give them some credit and suppose it's between 100K cash and (at least) 100K worth of Fezza...
Anyways, I'd take the cash, too. Even if I'd be spending all the money on cars (unlikely) for that amount I could buy a small fleet of cars that'd fulfil all of my driving wishes.
More likely, I'd spend half the amount on a black Sagaris (which I'd keep forever, so not overtly worried about it being a depreciating asset); the rest would likely be put into upgrading my real estate situation at some point.

Definitely the cash.
My local radio station got in serious trouble over this the other year, as it turned out it was a total trick question.
Basically, the 'winners' are put in a shortlist and made to answer Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? type questions. Then the winner gets to choose.
They chose the Ferrari, it turned out to be a 1:18th-scale Bburago F50. Of course, the radio station pocketed the cash.
It all plays on the numpty public's assumption that Ferraris cost over £100k. The fact that we PHers know we could buy a decent Ferrari for much less than that and have a long luxury holiday in it on the change means we'd never be tricked.
The cash, every time (I'd buy a BMW M1 with it myself).

No this competition is on Pulse FM, and its a reverse auction kind of thing. You bid but its the lowest unique bid that wins. And its a text only competition.
They've been running this competition all year but with various prizes, before this the biggest thing they gave away was a Land Rover Freelander.

If you click the competition on Pulse FM's site and read the terms and conditions you'll see
"The Promotion is organised by The Wireless Group PLC, 18 Hatfields, London SE1 8DJ, and Million21 Ltd, Ducie House 37 Ducie Street, Manchester, M1 2JW
aka
It's a Million-2-1 competition being promoted by several radio stations and not a Pulse FM or Talksport exclusive.
