I might be considered from the old school but women and swearing never sounds right.

In the past couple of years i have had 3 occasions were women i have just met and i don`t mean in a "chatting up" situation have at first meeting begun swearing.

One was dog walking, another was a driver at work and the last one was someone i was talking to via E mails, and on each occasion i did`nt join in the swearing for maybe 2 months then when i loosened up and began treating them like a mate and swearing myself the friendship began to fall apart.

Now this is only my opinion and please tell me if you think i`v got it wrong but i think women see men "bonding" by swearing and telling dirty jokes and think "I would`nt mind doing that" so they start Effing and blinding but its usually only short term because they soon show their real colours and get all moody and kick off because you`ve done something like not answering your phone quick enough when they rang you.

Your mate would`nt get all moody with you and women don`t seam to realise this.

So l`ve decided if another women i meet starts Effing and Jeffing with me i`m going to walk away.

Has anybody else had this problem?.

I tend to find anyone who swears excessively not overly nice to be around. Especially bad when women do, even more so when it seems they are trying to do to 'impress' you. Sorry major turn off for me, same with tattoos or strange piercings

its ok if the first word starts with an "F" and rhymes with luck and the second word is "me"

Then they can scream it all they want

women who try to be laddish , are my biggest pet hate , i see them as gentle creatures in the kitchen cooking tea for hubby when he gets home from a hard days work ........

I am an old fashion git I must admit , women swearing are off putting and unsexy , but that's not necessarily their fault. The parents bear the responsablity in their upbringing.

Did I just say parents? sorry I meant parent as is the case in most situations , single mums , rough upbringing, daughter follows the same path.Result: domino effect , girls are loud , laddish, and encouraged to be so,and it rubs off on their mates too.

ladylike behaviour is as rare as hen's teeth.

Sadly it's just a reflection of today's society

Rant over now.

Judging from some of the past threads on here, gentlemanly behaviour doesn't seem to be the norm, either.

There's a good reason for that -

Not something I object to strongly as part of a conversation, but only if used desriptively and not gratuitously (SP?).

There are things I cannot stand though, I dislike girls/ladies that drink pints, smoke in the street or chew gum.

but then again, I anm wiered!!!

Don't swear much myself, but think thats due to having kids. Don't like swearing around them much so tend to find other words to substitute for those moments of frustration when you need to let off steam.

Tend not to swear around new people in adult company either, don't really see the need it doesn't help you get the point across any better.

Passed a girl in animated conversation with her mate in the town a couple of weeks ago, and caught a snippet of the conversation " ...and he can stick his f***ing ...". Nice girl I thought. Seems the market stall keeper nearby also got an earful, and made some comment (probably in jest, I seriously doubt a market trader would blanche at the languauge!). To her credit, she actually stopped, coloured up, and apologised! Good for her.
