Useless e-mail doing the rounds with a JPEG attached to bung up email boxes the world over. And why do they always seem to originate from someone like "Perth Police Station" as this one does????

A lot of it's randomly generated, but when it's gets more sophisticated, it's desigend to get through corportate SPAM filters.

Spoofing smtp addresses is very easy. I've had spam sent on my behalf before, originating in Asia somewhere.

Me too. It's a bit of a shock to get spam *from yourself* offering 'cheap meds' or whatever.
