I wonder if Sir Bob saw the 'email to a friend' icon underneath?

What about web based fora..... you can track the productivity of the IT industry purely by measuring the post-rate on PH.

I think he has a very valid point, people are losing the art of one-to-one communication and are relying too much on e-mail to get work done. A classic example, especially in the industry I work in (consultant engineering) it's far easier to pick up the phone and speak directly to a client/architect and solve any problems directly than it is to spend 1/2 hour typing a whopping great e-mail trying to explain yourself.

Yet people still do it, and the personal touch often goes a long way, e-mails are a pain in the arse!
