I won, I won!!!!

I'm a happy, if a little bit of a nerdy, camper today.
I've bought This from E-Bay. My first ever e-bay purchase! I even used a friends log in to buy it. The sale said UK only, so they can send it to him in London if it can't be posted here. Saw it in Top Gear as I flicked through it the other day. As a Merc nut (esp the S-class) I'd have gone alot higher. I already have a few earlier launch brochures of the S, but this is just brilliant!
I'm so happy.
I'm a nerd, aren't I.
It's depressing.

The bad news is that this is the well known "mercedes press brochure scam".
By now, the scammers will have your friend's bank account details and his money will be on its way out of the country. They will max out his credit cards by calling premium rate russian porn lines, they will seduce his girlfriend, send a virus to his computer, make a bogus complaint to his boss who will fire him. Nobody will believe him so he will become depressed and try to kill himself by hanging. Unfortunately, the rope will break and leave him alive, but crippled from the neck down.
They will also leave negative feedback on his ebay account.
You're lucky you logged in on his ID.

I threw out approx 20 1980's Merc brochures this week! You could have had them for the price of a stamp

Actually, as I'm moving into my house in a few months I've been throwing out all my stuff too. 13 years solid of CAR and numerous Autocat and Top Gears. As well as hundreds of brochures from anything after 1990. Nearly lost my bumper on the curb with the weight going to the recycling depot.
Which makes it all the more bizarre that I'm now BUYING brochures
. I need to stop!
