So, what do we reckon for Saturday then? I've got a sneeking suspicion that England might take this one by 3-6 points. Looking forward to seeing Andrew Sheriden make mincemeat of the Oz front row

I think it'll be a fairly close game, but I can't see England winning it; I'd predict Australia by 5-10. I think England will be a much better team this season than last but they're still someway off the standards of the best of the southern hemisphere, as are the rest of the home nations. Sorry to see you've fallen for Sky's absurd over hyping of Sheridaaaaan, by the way.

Much as it pains me to say it, I think the Aussies are going to scrape this one but 7 or so points.

I would like to see Sheridan live up to his hype, he is a strong lad for sure (apparently used to warm up in the Richmond gym using the weights the Quinnell bros finished on).

good excuse for a beer whatever the result!

May be overhyped, sure, but I'm looking forward to seeing something 6'5", 19 stone that can lift 1/3 ton rampaging!

What the hell kind of sport (I assume it's sport) are you on about? I'm guessing Rugby but I'm not entirely certain.

You're right, we're talking about the grand game of Rugby Union...

I think the current Aus team are wuite a way off the best of the southern hemisphere too

Over hyped ? we will see, the man is the same age as me ( 25 ) and in prop years that is the begining, he has 5 years to improve his skills, learn the trade at international level, get stronger (!) and genrally become a decent set piece player. He can play well off the ball and knows the line outs piece of piss, he has only been prop for 2 years. He was a cracking ( but slow ) no.8 and a almightly second row. He is very tall for a prop but once he gets more experience he will learn how to get underneath a decent prop and then phyisically drive him up. Game over.

What going on with simon shaw ? has he just dropped off the england radar ? I rate that boy a a solid workhorse ( could do with more of those at the moment)imagine that bloke pushing behind Sheridan, 20 1/2 stone 6ft 11 second row with a 6ft 7 19 stone prop, feck me that would hurt just a tad.

Result ? Aussies to win it not too much problems ( I hope not but can't see it any other way ), talked to josh Lewsey when he came to our club the other week and on the quiet he doesn't think we stand much of a chance either.

I agree, it would look much better without that ugly union jack spoiling it

At the end of the day, England will not compete until robinson moves on, the tactics he employed last year were dreadful, and his selection this year aint great. Tindall is not yet in form so why pick him? England will need an awesome perfromance from hodgson tomorrow to win. Oh and Sheridan has been in great form for sale this year, think he, vickery and thompson will take the aus scrum apart tomorrow.

It's not just Sheridan - I can't wait to see the Aussie front row's faces at the first scrum when they look up and see Andy Sheridan -6'5"/19sts....Steve Thompson 6'3"/19.5 sts.....Phil Vickery 6'3"/19sts

I too would love to see Simon Shaw getting a regular place - he is a superb ball handler, and incredibly nimble for a big 'un. What has he done wrong - run over Woodward's dog, and molest Andy robinson's wife?

I would also like to see Brian Ashton back as the senoir team's backs coach - if anyone can sort those serial under-achievers out, it's Ashton.

I think England might just sneak it in a tight mauling sort of game. I don't think we'll see a lot of English running play.

I used to play county and divisional rugby alongside Sheridan when he was a No 8 and he was devistating then. It was clear that he had the dedication and commitment to go all the way, and always progressed to better and better standards. Obviously this is (excuse the pun!) a whole different ball game but i'm sure he can quickly progress to an awesome international standard prop.

There certainly seems to be a lot of expectations and we've yet to see him truely tested on the big stage.

As an impartial observer I hope England rub in just how far Aus level of performance has dropped.

I fear that letting Brian Ashton leave the set-up to take over at Bath is a backward step.
His teams always show some invention with ball in hand. Looks like it will be back to RL style attacking.....
