What An Admission!!! - I Like ELO!

[beano500]

Chris Evans played an ELO track on his Desert Island

(Last Sunday, repeated Friday if you missed it or see website at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/desertislanddiscs.shtml )

Then there was that advertisement on the TeleVisual....

I used to have the vinyl - do you remember it? It had the cut out and make space ship!!!

So I ordered a secondhand copy of "Out Of The Blue" CD on Sunday and it arrived this morning...

...and it's really good!!!

Raised on ELO by my Brother, playing his records to death. recently got teh 2CD best of...Brilliant.

It is a myth, or was there some story that John Lennon once said to Jeff Lynne that ELO were what he'd have wanted the beatles to sound like (in terms of orchastration, I guess) had they stayed together.

I've heard that quote a few times over the years, so there may be some truth in it.

The double CD is a superb collection

Just a shame Amazon took 13 weeks to deliver it after taking my money

I wish Desert Island Discs would do Listen Again without the music

[Mrs Fish]

I have their greatest hits, I love it, sing along pop at its best

[tinman0]

ermm, currently have Discovery, Out of the Blue, and Time on my current mp3 car cd at the moment.

[Mon Ami Mate]

Time is an absolutely brilliant album.

Years ahead of its, erm, Time.

ELO were an excellent band and it irritates me that it is considered fashionable to knock them.

Saw them in concert in Wembley in 1986 they were FAN/BLOODY/TASTIC.
Ahh! Nostalgia, those were the days!
