How to open the boot without battery

Hi everyone
A week ago I bought a TVR S model. What a fantastic car!!! I ordered as well a S-Bible from Steve Heath but unfortunately, this book is not yet in Switzerland. Anyway, I was wondering how I could open the boot without the battery in place?

I assume from the question that you have an electrical boot release?

Easiest way is to connect a 12v battery (for example, via the power terminal on the back of the alternator) and then use the electrical release as normal.

I am sure that opening the boot without the battery in place is far more complicated than just using the battery. Surely it must be easier by your method to just connect the battery to its normal position and avoid damage to the alternator

Indeed the boot can be opened only through this electrical switch below the dashboard / steering wheel. But I would like to remove the battery over wintertime to plug it to a charging station. I asked myself how to open it without electrical power. But if ever this happens, I will plug another battery to the alternator and hope that it will work. Again, thanks a lot and

The alternator is the easiest place to do it, and that's what I use for getting into cars with a flat battery. If you ever find that isn't possible (or you just don't trust yourself not to blow up the alternator) you can apply 12v directly via the appropriate relay socket. In fact you can get away with a 9V torch battery if you do decide to take this route. But connecting onto the back of the alternator is much easier.

why dont you leave the boot open while its being charged up?
Unless its outside of course this would be the easiest way surley?
