I actually thought it was a sppof/windup, and then oh dear it dawned......this is a direct transfer of an Austrlian advert over onto UK TV.

What really makes me laugh at that ad, is when they are singing (???) about women being the safest drivers is when they are all sat on the back of the seats and the car appears to be travelling backwards!

You are just jealous because it is for the safe women drivers.

I might try them for a quote after xmas, although the specialist insurance companies for women are never cheap.

(p.s. I hate the ad. too)

I was perplexed by this ad as well since the term Shelia is, or at least can be construed as, slightly insulting in Australia, depending on context.

I also noticed that deoderant ad where the cars are going upside down and people jump out the windows and stuff, all filmed in Australia, the cars are a dead giveaway. There were a couple more as well but I cant think of them offhand.

I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, and tried to get a quote for my Audi A8. guess what? they won't insure it!! Must be too dangerous!

In other words, they're a bunch of cherry-pickers, and like "Diamond" insurance for women - no cheaper than anyone else.

I quite like the silly advert though.

Mind you - www.sheilaswheels.com/sw_info_sheilas_story.htm - is about as patronising as it's possible to be - much like the London Transport safety leaflet posted on here a few weeks ago. If I were a woman, and read that drivel, I'd ring eSure just to tell them to go themselves. Condescending w*nkers! (But they're an all-woman team, so that's alright then. )

The moral of this story is to go with an insurance company that doesn't advertise on TV - and as a result don't have so much revenue to recover.

Can't see Lancaster, Footman James, Adrian Flux or Firebond popping up on telly proclaiming cheaper insurance for Sierra Cosworths, mainly because the Sierras are all falling apart in a cartoon comedy fashion on the 'Buy a new car with money you don't have' adverts.

The good Mrs S isn't a fan of that advert either...

She refuses to phone diamond insurance on account of their phone number!
