Then spend your money locally!

Local spending
=
Local Jobs
=
Less local unemployment, fewer deadbeats/chavs etc.

The sooner they can afford a playstation the sooner they'l stop kicking your fence. So I'd say, give the big out of town places a rest and stick to your local high street and local suppliers.

Am I right?

Just opened round the corner from me - this isn't a marketing ploy is it?

Why, don't out-of-town shops employ people?

Yes, because all chavs really want to work, but just can never find a job...

Sorry, just isn't that easy. I do agree with supporting your local economy, but to think this is going to have a major effect on those committed to a minimum work/maximum aggro lifestyle, its going to to take carrot and stick...with the emphasis on stick.

Not as many people, and not local people! Well, local to the shop maybe but if the shop's not local to you then neither are the jobs.

It seems like a culture thing, their ma+pa don't work, their friends don't work - why should work ever cross their minds?? And what do you do if you don't work.. you make trouble for people that do!
I aggree that its not easy to reverse it all overnight but you've got to make a start. What else are you going to do, roam the streets at night like The Equalizer?? Or just shut the curtains and let someone else deal with it all?

There's a new invention called "commuting"

People don't tend to commute very far to supermarket jobs - commuting's expensive, so its not worth it.

What I want to know is why do they always hang around outside the doors of supermarkets. If I was so bored I couldn't find anything better to do than hang around outside doing nothing, I could at least think of a whole load of nicer places to hang around than outside a supermarket.

Edited for typo

Neil : I went to the local paper shop, but they didn't have a local paper.

Mike : Well they're obviously not from this area.

The answer to all your Chav problems is Mozart :-

Nope, you've made the incorrect assumption that chavs like working;
they are not the working classes - they are the non-working classes.

That's the whole reason why we need immigrant workers (on less than £3/hour) to stack shelves, cleaning jobs, and all other jobs that chavs are to lazy to do, or god forbid, train to do (this would tax their lazy minds far too much).

I’ve never figured that either. My local Co-op they sit on seat in the foyer and look as miserable as sin.

The kind of place that costs less than a squid to get to clearly isnt the kind of place I'm talking about.

I just see a link between streets deserted of normal folk leaving the yobs in the majority, and all the normal folk driving their MPV's to the out of town shopping centres. I'm saying that IMO by reversing that trend you would create more local jobs which would start to reduce the problem in the longer term. But it looks like I'm in a minority of 1 in this forum

No, I could get from my suburban house to any number of "out of town" shopping centres a lot easier and more cheaply than I could get into the local town centre. Where exactly are you talking about?

Basically, what your original post doesn't make much sense. Out of town shopping provides much better employment and shopping opportunities than nasty, congested, anti-car town centres.

Sorry, no amount of opportunities presented to the average chav will get them into work.

I was in the jobcentre the other day and the attitude of the chavs beggars belief. The storm in, kick the doors open, punch the windows for the hell of it, swear at the staff and act in a generally surly and offensive way. They don't look for work (or if they do it's just token 'looking' so they can 'earn' their 'jobseeker's allowance'), and they still walk out with their benefit cheques.

And where does that money go? Well they're clad head to toe in new branded sportswear.

Out of town shopping centres are great, partly because they'll let you drive there and won't charge you to park, and also because they're free of chavs hanging around.

Think about it - what's the most distinctive feature of any Spar shop - chavs working in it or chavs hanging around outside it swearing at customers?
