I have a lovely trip to work, it is about a 25 min walk and there is no way I can bring the car, company car park VERY full and the local car park is expensive and unsafe for my babe.

I was thinking of getting a second hand go ped, are they any good?, do they break down lots? What sort of money should I spend on a good 'un? Are the go peds good or would the cheaper mini moto things be just as good?

You need to check if you can actually use it. I didnt think they were legal on the road and dont think you can use them on the pavement.

Get a cycle & get fit

Don’t know, it’s a moving/stationary obstruction. I’m not sure how this is perceived legally.

I understand that they are not legal. Powered vehicle with no tax / MOT so not allowed on the road and a powered vehicle so not allowed on the pavement (where does this leave powered wheel chairs?)

I am not really bothered about this, What will pi$$ me off is if I end up pushing it too and from work then shelling out loads to fix it.

I dont want to cycle 'cos I dont want to arrive at work smelly and sweaty.

Are go peds any good?

OK put it this way,
I want a go ped, I dont want a bike. I hate cycling, I used to skate everyware when I was a kid 'cos I hate bikes. I dont want to start my day with sore balls, and leave work to find some half wit barsteward has vandalised the bike.

A friend of mine rides a mini-moto to work every day (in his suit)! Always a good one.

so why not say that in the first place? ;-)

pain dissapears after a few weeks, although that might just be something to do with causing untold permanant damage.

so why wont the half wited barsteward start on something even more interesting like a go ped?

They are now classified as a motorbike.
I imported one about six years ago and used to use it all the time on short trips to the shop or to friends there great.
But about 2-3 years ago the government closed a loop hole in the law, it used to be that if a powered vehicle weighed less than 50kgs it did not have MOT ,insurance, road tax, indicators light etc etc.
The main reason they changed the law was that people that had been band from driving were using them as an alternative form of transport, & because they had no vehicle classifcation the the normal road traffic laws did not apply.

So you have to MOT a go ped? What do you have to do in order to use one legally?

Hurts like hell if you fall off ( note to self - never ride one handed )

AAAARRRRGGGGHHH

NO PUSH BIKES
NO MOUNTAIN BIKES
NO FOLDING BIKES
NO UNI CYCLES
NO CYCLES
NOT ANY SORT OF BIKE

I HATE BIKES

I thought this was a petrol head site, I will ask on a bike forum (oh god no...)
All I want is a go ped, a nice go ped (sniff)

The kind of thing to scare old ladies and little dogs and ride to work with a big smile on my face!

Looks good, how much was it? I must admit one of the big plus points of a go ped is that it very cheap second hand!
