I don't have any sympathy for them at all. They're just getting what they asked for by letting half of North Africa's Muslim population in the door.

BBC said:
Muslim leaders have urged politicians to show respect for immigrant communities.

Dalil Boubakeur, the head of the French Council for the Muslim Religion, said people in the suburbs "must be given the conditions to live with dignity as human beings", not in "disgraceful squats".

Coded message "give us more welfare benefits and don't try and enforce the law."

Large scale immigration of unskilled workers has mostly been a disaster for western countries, resulting in high welfare bills and crime.

The only way forward is to adopt a points system of immigration, as practised in Australia.

Well yes, but maybe they shouldn't have colonised half of North Africa's Muslim countries in the first place, or at least got out earlier. We have got a similar problem (although of far less considerable proportion) with troublesome youth from the Netherlands Antilles being put on a plane to live here - but how would you prevent people travelling from one part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to another? You'd be on a slippery slope there...

Unfortunately that would be against the human rights of useless immigrants.

But the point is that the Germans never regarded Turkey as part of their empire (apart from 1939-45 maybe, but they lost that war so it's immaterial) so in their case it's always been a matter of immigration rather than people moving from one part of a state entity, to another.

Having said that, over here at a communal level there are indeed regulations being brought in place that aim to counteract the concentration of immigrants in our larger cities. 't Will always be a thorny issue though as there's not that much one can do without violating issues that are considered to be cornerstones of modern Western society (free travel of persons and goods, for one).

Muslims, Muslims, always with the Muslims.

Any evidence to back up your assertions?

For decades - and during the Mitterand years - the left used the issue to their advantage.

Anyone daring to suggest that France needed an immigration policy (ie not letting in all the misery of the world), was labelled a 'racist'.

Hence they blocked any debate, the situation is real bad.

The policy of family regroupement allow people to bring in wives, kids, etc from abroad and put everyone on social welfare.

People start to realize the issue, a bit like in the Netherlands. Over half of newborns in maternities are north africans. The most common name given in the Netherlands to new born males is Mohamed.

Don't take me wrong, but this is a reality that people need to take stock of.

My sister lives in Marseilles, and people who don't know the place would not believe it, you could walk for miles and think you are in Cairo or Algiers, only the French reg on the car would led you to believe where you are.

What would you like me to refer to Muslims as? Is there some PC term I am unfamiliar with?

Why does she live in that place? It's a hell hole.

From what I could tell large parts of the city are effectively no go zones for whites.....I wandered through one...it was interesting. To say the least. I've never known a place with such a palpable sense of malevolant menace.

My point was that there are other types of immigrant, you know. Or do you solely object to the Muslim ones?

How on earth did you misconstrue that comment to mean all immigrants are useless?

This will only get worse, the differance between the French Authorities and the engilish is we adhere to every rule on rights etc, they will not. Having seen the French Riot police at close hand, they have many members who make the National Front look like boy scouts. If this continues they will start shooting people and the majority of the French population will support them. My brother lives in Franch and it is undoubtedly a Racist country hence the support le Penn got.

And yes the Muslim council always want others to respect them yet they show no respect for the laws and cultures of the country they live in.

I hope I am wrong but I see blood shed.

She is a young teacher and has to take the posting she gets initially. In the first 3 weeks of classes, there has been knife incidents, threats, you name it. Hard to believe.

It is a bit similar to the pb you have in the UK with those gangs of hooded youth generating 90% of vandalism, theft, etc...

I was watching the news yesterday and felt sick.

This gang has been setting fire on cars, schools (Schools FFS), and were demanding for the police to leave the area.

Politicians were finding them excuses (Deprived area, blah blah blah...).

Anyone who burns a school has no right to any compassion, their place is locked in a dark, damp cesspit

The french did quite well out of gaining the resources of North Africa.

Same situation applies here in the UK as well where a ethnic group believes the state treats them badly.

The state should not be surprised if that group of people revolts be it the Guy Fawlkes or the 7/7 bombers.

If you had actually read anything about this story you would know the majority of the rioters are African Muslims. The fact that there are other types of immigrant is blindingly obvious and neither here nor there.

What would your solution be then?, the french would really like to know!

You have obviously thought about this topic in great depth, judging by the similiar theme in most of your topics.

Easier said than done. French employment rights mean there is a distinct shortage jobs - few businesses will take on new staff because they are impossible to sack. Add to that that these people are probably some of the least employable (poor language, cultural understanding and education) and getting work is not an option.

There isn't always a solution to a problem. And indeed pointing out that a problem exists doesn't mean that one must have a solution to propose.

Or would you prefer that we just pretended at a problem didn't exist if we could offer no immediate solution?
