I got back from a quite mega weekend on Monday morning.
1300 miles, 3 countries - if you count Scotland. I'm absolutely thrilled to report that nothing broke, everything worked, and basically what an absolute missile of a machine.
I was, however, quite annoyed to discover that Mummy's told all her friends, and all my mates have similarly been telling the man in the paper shop, Butcher, ex-girlfriends, etc, etc.
I don't know how you all see it, but for me this is something that - while not exactly a secret - I'd like to keep fairly low-key if i can.
If they find out at work I'll never get another raise! I don't particularly want people to see me as the bloke with the (milk and hazelnut) choc-coloured ferrari. I don't want my car to define me; I want to drive and drive and drive.
Does anyone understand this POV, or should I shut up and start swinging the keys round my finger at parties?!

Castex - good to see you on the board again mate.
No-one NEEDS to know.. I agree with you. There are a lot of guys out there who just get the wrong idea if you tell them you have a Ferrari - a lot of people think that we cannot be enthusiastic for some reason...
The more people find out the more inevitable the "rich Ferrari w*nkers" branding becomes from those bloody idiots who don't know why we love cars.

Nuts to that. When you get into work go in with a Ferrari jacket, fleece, t-shirt, trainers, bag, key ring, cap(2002 F1 champion) and copy of Forza! Somehow always manage to bring your Ferrari ownership and their lack of into every conversation that takes place in and outside the office.
Ok, maybe not, but don't be worried about people knowing just don't make an effort to tell anyone not like minded. Same thing applies when you make big money, only people that need to know need to know! Funny how a bit of metal can change a persons opinion of you.
Enjoy your car
P.S Was in no way refering to Ferrari when I said bit of metal
