I have posted in General Gassing (Griffith vs Z3M), but thought I would catch attention here. I am trying to research this car as I know nothing about them: if you get a moment, I'd really appreciate comments on the GG thread...
Also, any decent buyers' guides about for the M Roadster?

I'm pretty sure EVO did a buyers guide to the Z3M Coupe and Roadster. I can't remember which one tho, sorry.

That said, it has pace and presence in abundance, the reassurance of 100,000-mile major service intervals and a chassis that proves the Americans can get things right when they put their minds to it. The M Coupe was included purely on the basis that it punches way beyond its fiscal weight, and for that we love it, warts and all. Crude but effective, it's a special car. And the TVR, dynamically flawed though it is, trips every irrational, emotion-led switch in your body with its irresistible combination of visual and aural drama and no-holds barred delivery. I know its shortcomings, but I still want one so much it hurts. Let's just say that they all finish joint third.
Basically Z3M Roadsters are Crap ZM Coupes on the other hand are one of the best cars ever made by BMW

Well yes I was a bit unfair, but given the option between a ZM Roadster and Coupe the Coupe wins hands down.
Thanks for the details but I owned a ZM Coupe for two years and would say its one of the most entertaining cars I have driven. more fun than my 993.
I have driven it back to back with a Roadster and there is no contest.
To much scuttle shake an wobble and twist. On its own a great car, but up against its metal roofed brother? Different class.

Personally I think it does what it says on the tin. A fast, practical fun convertible. It's no boxtster s, but for £12k it's a lot of car for your money1

Z3M Coupe undoubtedly the better (quicker & sharper) car - but not an option for me; it has to be a convertible! And to be honest, while the M Roadster's handling may be 'lively' - I'm used to TVRs and a Custom 340bhp V8 MGB roadster - so I seem happiest sideways anyway...

Just to ad - adi, your car sounds perfect (even the right colour) and I would have come to see it, but sadly purchase will probably not be happening until next year. Love the number plate too. Shame, as you being in Barnes it would have been easy for me to get to you for a test drive/ride!

Phil, I don't think the comment about the car in the wet was supposed to be a put down.
My ZM Coupe in the wet was very scary, but it was the most fun in the wet I have driven bar a Westfield.

When you say the VANOS work was done - does that mean that it was returned, checked & filters etc changed by BMW, or that it was replaced? And does the car have any sort of warranty left?
