Marcos TSO GT2 V Sagaris in EVO
Discussion
Well EVO arrived and the article on the Marcos V TVR is great reading with the TSO lossing out by half a star only this time.
Cannot wait till they test a full road going car and not a pre-production one. It could well win then.
Great reading and great things for the future of Marcos to come, as EVO put it Take note TVR, Marcos are here to stay and they want the Chimaera / Griffith owners, the V8 lovers have something to look forward to. Nice design by the ex-TVR boys too.
Cheers

No wander TVR are admitting to a V8 coming back into the fold in the near future... lets see if the V8 owners are patient enough to either wait for a new V8 TVR, or jump ship to Marcos....
Knowing TVR, they'll get their V8 2+2 out before Marcos goes into full-on production....
The battle begins....

Not really a fan of the design of the Marcos and despite it being quicker than the Sagaris, I think it will struggle to sell.
What I found confusing about the article is that it stated that the Marcos did an impressive 0-100 in 9.8secs? If it is quicker than the Saggy (which on paper it must be ....look at the torque figures), then surely it would be quicker to 100?
With EVOs new idea to rolling road the cars they test then I am suprised that the Saggy wasn't tested (may be because it wasn't factory supplied?), would have been good to see how close its figures are to what's claimed.
The big positive it that Marcos is back.......bringing with it some real competition for TVR on price, looks (arguably) and performance.

Oh bollox, I really like TVR, but I'm afraid the saggy is a terribly max chav looking car with a poor engine choice. (This is my opinion only and I believe people when they say they like the car).
But that Marcos is very good looking with more than a little tip toward a favorite car of mine the daytona coupe. With a V8 engine in the Marcos TVR is really gonna have to put their thumb out and do a little better than unconvincing aerofoils and Max bonnet slots, or I'm gonna jump ship for the next car.

The day Marcos get the interiors up to the same level as the rest of the car is they day they will truely give TVR a challenge.
Wait and see... Cyclone1 said:

I don't. LS6, Prodrive chassis etc. for sub-£50K should do very well.

Sagaris has been figured with the optional CR box - ie 100mph in 2nd. Marcos probably doing the ton in 3rd. A cross-gate shift is at least half a second, maybe as much as whole second. The 9.8 does look a bit off-the-pace though - it's got even more torque than my car and I did an untidy 9.03 with two gearshifts. They don't mention traction as being a problem with the Marcos, quite the contrary. If that T56 'box is anything like the ones I've tried in HSVs, Monaros and Vettes, the 'box is impeding the sprint time.
IMHO Mr Stelliga is barking up the right tree with this car. I'm a fan of the S6 and AJP8 but its hard to argue against the LS6 - and bear in mind the TSO tested against the Sagaris was only the 'cooking' version ...hotrod Marcos still to come.
"TVR: sit up and take notice".
...however, speaking personally, a lot of the fun with a TVR is "giant killing". Knowing a Marcos (or anything else) has more oomph has generally served as a red rag-to-a-bull to me. Gemballa 600... Diablo... 700bhp Skyline... Remember: there's always more adjustment in the nut behind the wheel...

I think Marcos should make those central clocks point at the driver. I reckon they could make a dash panel that can be turned upside down for LHD applications if they thought about it. If not the whole dash section, at least the instruments.

so how many cars have they actually sold...?
