Some complete Berk cut through the oil line to our boiler when it should have been the radiator feed!

As a consequence about two litres of diesel type oil was deposited on the kitchen tiles, as they are old and porous the smell is still pretty bad after two days.

How do I get rid of it?

Nick

PS typing error - please delete "some complete Berk" and insert "I" ;)

Ring the company he works for and ask them to do it. I presume he was a tradesman. Failing that, get some Spilsorb from your local garage , put it down and let it do its work. You could also try washing up liquid to get rid of it.

Alternatively

Try going to local pet shop, needs to be big one to stock this stuff. Then buy the cat urine smell removal spray (can't remember brand name)

You have to spray so it's really wet, if it doesn't get to all the smelly areas, it can't work.

Basically it's a spray containing bacteria and enzymes that break down carbon based smelly things. It might not work, but it's worked wonders for me with various other smelly stuff.

Needs 2-5 days to work, and you have to use loads, not just a light spray, soak the stuff with the spray.

This place sell stuff to get rid of smells on boats including Diesel

We use dish washing soap at the tech. school I go to to get the Diesel and oil off the concrete floors.

And the odor sanitizer that was mentioned above might be called "Ozium" a lot of veterinary clinics use it.
