£30 fine........
was pulled over just as I was about to drop it going into the Hatfield Tunnel..... so ruined that as well
(cooper was ok though just doing his job...... I guess he could have bust me for speeding but didn't mention that 
)
Illegal spacing and type face (not the same reg as in profile pic) which can not picked up by the vehicle recognition cameras
Might as well get the whole front painted and get ride of the stone chips ......Hoooo hummmm bye bye £800

Yeah, I know how you feel. I have just found out that some numpty has backed into the Griff last time it was out and has put some hairline cracks in the paint under the badge 
Plus the front is looking very tatty. But I reckon I could probably do the front myself if I have the time, but between, chassis prep, work, fixing my mini, fixing my girlfriend's mini, Christmas, helping a PHer fix his flat, when will I find the time?
I have a family thing so had to cancel my Btap ticket But I'll be up for a bit of a hoon on the Saturday.
Plus the front is looking very tatty. I can't believe you were going to drop a couple of cogs just for the tunnel. That kind of behaviour should be outlawed young man!
Last Griff I owned I reversed over my daughter's bike. Believe me the cost of paintwork was nothing compared to the emotional upset of bending the rear wheel of the Fairy Princess

QUIET Angus....... as far as I'm concerned its perfectly acceptable behaviour for the Hatfield Tunnel, and the Howard Center
Everything doesn't seem so bad now after spending yesterday lunch/afternoon/evening on a mini pub crawl..... cos my head hurts and mouth is all furry.
And to cap it all the Mazda's got a puncher...... can't be assed to change the wheel so I'm going to nick the tyre weld out the Griff.
My shiny new injectors are delivered today as well... so it's not all bad

After a new ally radiator, new gaskets on the water pump, a new Kent 404 Camshaft, valve srings, Carbon trumpets, MA remap & £3K+ bill ALL this month I know all about bad car days......

<LOL> that reminds me about when the wifey Reversed Her Discovery onto the back of My chim, They were parked about 10 ft apart so she was up to ramming speed when she hit it and stuffed the tow hitch through the GRP
As you say the cost of the repairs were insignifcant to the Hormonal grief I got cos SHE drove into MY car... I was very calm and just said fine... I didnt even go and look at it for 2 hours. The girlies had all gone out ( so why one of the 6 of them in the disco didnt notice the chim i've no idea) and whilst they were out one of them even phoned having a go at me not to give jo any grief FFS, I hadnt and never have I just mantion it id passing occasionaly

You done well to get away with the plate for so long IMO. Did they not ask you to change it there and then as illegal? Have heard them do this before as your car is illegal I carry a normal size one in the boot for that reason..

Ummmm..... I've been running around with said plates for the best part of 2 years and not a word from the BIB,
I've had them sitting behind me in traffic jams
I've over taken an unmarked car before, realised it was a cop car so instead of taking the next car just slotted backin... only to realise the car in front was also an unmarked cop car ... I was sandwiched between cops and still nothing.
At South Mimms on way to last ACE Cafe meet some Bibs had a word but didn't do anything....

Got pulled by the BiB in the Audi in the summer for having silver on black plates (1st pull in 2 years so I cant complain) but had the originals in the boot. Told them I didnt have a screwdriver to fit the proper ones back on so they sent me on my way with the promise I would change them over ASAP. Fair enough
Still cant find my screwdriver though

I thought that was okay due to the age of the plates, no?
AFAIK you can only have the black/silver plates if the car is pre 1972, it relates more to the car rather than when the plate was first registered.
