Bought a new battery from Partco today, while I was there I invested in a TaskMaster Automotive Multi Tester, this checks not only the battery charge level, but with the engine running (at over 2000rpm) also checks how well the alternator is charging, if at all.
This cost the grand sum of £6.76!
