Why exactly do we have Welsh and Scottish parliaments - but not one exclusively for England ?

Who else thinks that Scottish and Welsh MP's should have no say in Westminster if the English have no say in Scotland or Wales ?

The current set up is a joke ...... Scottish and Welsh MP's can vote on and influence matters which are *exclusively* English ! :ranting:- but the English MP's have no say on exclusively Welsh or Scottish policy.

As an example - the Smoking Legislation (for England) put forward by Patricia Hewett was torpedoed by John Reid - a Scottish MP ! (His constituents will not be able to smoke in Pubs (in Scotland) - but he has sought to overturn such a set-up in England )

I would hazard a guess that the English are spineless and feeble, englisj politicians are at the very least.

Because if we did, guess who would be paying for it?

I totally agree - plus I would like to see English taxes being used for English causes, Scottish taxes for Scots etc. Let's have a bit of fairness and equality for once.

I'd go for that so the Scots get all the Oil revenue, used to prop up the english economy for all those years...

Actually i always find it funny when people talk about England when what they actually mean is London

Never heard of the Scottish navy ruling the waves (where most of the oil revenue came from)....

Think sonny THINK....do you really want another bunch of limp-wristed donkey-ers spending your tax money. Take the welsh assembly if you want it PLEEEEAAAASSSSSEEEEEE

Who else thinks that Scottish and Welsh MP's should have no say in Westminster if the English have no say in Scotland or Wales ?

I, as a Welshman, think Scot and Welsh MP's should have no say in Westminster. I also think English MP's should have no say. Bunch of cokc-hungry cum suckers the lot

I think you'll find it doesnt matter who gets to vote on what, the end result will still be a load of bollox voted on by absolute cocks. You will get better government if decisions are made by the local wino sleeping in his own vomit in the gutter

As an example - the Smoking Legislation (for England) put forward by Patricia Hewett was torpedoed by John Reid - a Scottish MP ! (His constituents will not be able to smoke in Pubs (in Scotland) - but he has sought to overturn such a set-up in England )

Thats not because Reid is Scottish it is because he is a tt.

Er if you follow the angle of the border into the see along its trajectory, you'll find most 'scottish' oil is 'english' anyway.

I for one am pissed off living in London subsidisng the rest of the sodding country. Do you know how long I have to wait for a GP appointment in East London? 3.5 weeks.

English students only get 3 years at University and leave saddled with massive debt.

With regards to parliament, we have a massive scottish over representation due to the hugely disproportionate number of MPs per capita up there.

The whole thing pisses me off intensely, not that I blame the Scotts or the Welsh. I blame our sodding Gerrymandering government who know all about keeping themselves in power and pissing away money that should be spend providing a basic level of healthcare fairly across the country with.

Still if Scotland and Wales were to push for independance (oil or not), I'd be all for it, because frankly both of them cost England money.

And this is why, despite it being unfashionable, I love the Taffs. Straight talking, in the main in-it-for-aughs attitude, and a female population comprised entirely of nymphomaniacs.
