Anyone else get one of these through the post ? Not entirely sure if I read this correctly, but the STOP PRESS leaflet implied to me a fixed price 355 cambelt service at just over £1500 which seems pretty competitive to me.

Ninja said something along these lines too, so I think it's right. Maranellos know that I've been taking my business elsewhere because they are just too damn expensive, and you can get the same or better service elsewhere eg: 456 cam belts + 18K mile service: Maranello 4k, EH 3.8k, Graypaul 2.2k. No contest.

Graypaul must be bloody busy. I'm surprised they haven't been closed down for "letting the side down".

I'm assuming Graypauls price includes collection and delivery by flatbed/lowloader?

Daz- I would suggest Graypaul get sanctified for keeping the Ferrari end up while the others have been playing silly buggers :heheh: Asd it happens, it wouldn't take much to make me go independent, since my cars are over 4 years old now.

No the price doesn't include delivery, which is £60 each way or something (it's their fuel cost); I left it out for camparison, since Maranellos do not use a truck, they send a driver.

Absolutely Kev.

I know of performance car drivers who have avoided used Ferraris because of the £4k services etc. Bringing the costs of servicing down can only have a positve effect on residuals and encourage more drivers to "join the club".

It's just funny how on the one hand maranello UK are introducing "reasonable fixed price" cambelts servicing for 355s, when a while ago they announced significant increases to the prices of parts for the older cars. I suppose the former is a cost they can control whilst the latter is a cost passed on from the Factory (Manu posted something on this a while ago).

I got the same brochure through the post, and was pretty shocked to see that they have dropped £2K on the price of a cambelt service. They are still more expensive than Graypaul for the other services for a 355. I spoke to the guy at Graypaul and he tells me that they have had a meeting with Maranellos, and they are all going to bring the prices down. I was also told I could have my service done very cheaply. Even if one never uses an Independant, you've got to thank them for being here and pushing the prices down. And from what I have seen, they really do know a lot about the cars they work on.

I also think Maranellos have shot themselves in the foot with such a big workshop that they have trouble filling.

I was told that my service that was likely to cost £4K or so will now cost less than £2.5K. Thats a big saving!

Just nipped home, and I have one of these stop press thingies too: F355 (£1595); 348 (£1400) and 328 (£449) all ex-VAT. Did you also see that bit about Saturday morning customer sessions where they teach you how to change a wheel, use a tyre inflator cannister or check the oil level? Wow, really useful eh? Technical guide to a 355, 348 etc. with common problems would be more like it.
