Wasnt the 'advert' by Coys utterly cringeworthy?
Just who the 'kin hell does he think he is?
People who buy these cars dont care that they dont run properly.
Erm, lets see, yes bollox, no one willingly shells out on a £400K paperweight. (Older F1 car chassis aside)
Yes, that was awfull. I looked at my girlfriend and just said "bollox", she agree'd that it was very cringeworthy and tacky beyond belief, and why not bu ya Zonda, hehehe.
What he said was the biggest pile of bollox I've heard. The car broke down, so lets now say thats all part and parcel of owning one.
My cars radiator went 5 months ago, does that mean I'm a test driver for Peugeot? No... it just broke... duh!
I'd hate to buy a Koenigsegg now simply because what he said makes an owner look like a tit who actually buys into a car so that it breaks down and he can have a mechanic fly out to him
It'd have been better to say "yeah, this car is that powerfull that we can't quite make a good enough clutch" or, "Tiff must have been slipping the clutch like a pansy"
And it didn't look very steady. The CC8S on Top Gear seemed alot better!

JC seemed to like the CC8S, which imho is enough.
Just look what going for top speed did to the Veyron! OK, it's still a fairly practical car by proper 200mph+ cars, but it's a real lump, costs a bomb, and is probably never going to see 200mph except in Germany on a derestricted Autobahn.
The CC8S is enough for anyone, looks nicer, is cheaper.
I bet half the problem with the CCR is the stock setup to allow it to hit 250mph and remain stable. It probably benefits from alterations for different use, much like the Veyron lowers the ride height and removes the aerofoil for 250mph runs.
Also, like the 5th Gear team said, a car should be tested as it comes from the factory. Any car aimed for 250mph imho is going to be at one extreme of a setup, which is probably why it was driving a bit pants at lower speeds.
Christian Koenigsegg needs to realise going for top-speed is futile, and he should be selling on the merits of a good reliable super car, not on a 250mph car that is actually flawed through striving to be the best at a trade that isn't really that important (ie, top speed).

The Mclaren F1 wasnt fettled before doing 240.1mph, with Andy Wallace at the wheel. It was one of the pre-production protorypes. But I agree with what you are saying, it just puts the Mclaren into perspective. Afterll, ith all that talent, money and experience of very high speed vehicles, a small indipendant like the Koe..... just cannot compete
