I'm eating my frickin' lunch!
Discussion
I realise that in the larger scheme of things this is fairly trivial. But I feel I have to speak out against all those nimrods out there that come up to you when you're sitting at your desk, eating your lunch and reading the paper. Yes, you. You chicken-footed simpleton who approaches me (pretending not to notice the food and newspaper) and starts a) a conversation with you, or b) asking you to do something.
You put down your fork and finish chewing the mouthful of food. You lean back in your chair and look up. Only then does the pond life acknowledge that you're at lunch. They pause, bated breath, and then the obvious question falls from their flaccid lips like faeces from a duck's behind, "Oh, are you at lunch?"
You toy with the appealing vision of your lunchtime assailant lying on the floor with a fork inserted in his bell end and torn newspaper clogging his nostrils and mouth as he suffocates and dies. Before you can reply, however, Mr Nimrod waits for you to say, "It doesn't matter, what can I do for you?" but you don't, so he ploughs on regardless with his stream of consciousness turd wallow.
Meanwhile, your lunch is softly calling you, "Eat me! Eat me! I'm lonely!" but you can't start again until Mr Duck Arse has gone.....
And.....BREATHE!

If you don't want to be bothered leave your office, and certainly leave your desk...
There is no such thing as 'lunch' in an office these days - just sandwiches eaten in / between meetings....
It depends on the office.
I have my lunch at my desk and I am only disturbed by an occasional phone call.
