I´ve not been a huge fan of the band but today I heard that the lead singer Tarja Turunen is out from the band. And the reason for this is that the other band members and her have artistic differences what ever that means. Don´t they always say that? To the ones that love singing, the band is already looking for a new singer :hehe:

Thanks for asking, I´m doing really well. Coming to UK again soonish Our Pantzerwagen (the merc) will be sold, but I´m hoping to get another one in the future. What needs to be done with the Emperor? How´ve you been and your family?

Back on topic... What a shame, I love Nightwish. I saw them at Download playing only half a set as their plane was delayed due to a bomb scare and some idiot not putting enough fuel in. Still amazing, with the guitarist raining fire and brimstone on the people responsible for the delay.

Oh, and she's

I really like Nightwish too (though wasn't too sure about the phantom of the opera number). The lead singers voice is amazing. She'll no doubt go solo with a voice like that. I hope they find a replacement for the band that's as good.

Yep your right, she is going for a solo career. Definitely will be a problem to find equally talented singer to place her.

Mmmn, they are/were good and put a lot into the music but I found her voice a bit one dimensional, prefered Evanesence myself

She´s got classical training, opera singer apparently and Evenesence is just a copycat

I've heard Amy Lee singing live on CD / TV and she sounds awful.

I do like Nightwish, bought the album "Once" last year.

I think they have had problems in the past. From what I gather there is one guy in the band who is like the leader and was really demanding on Tarja. This was prior to their last album though.

Agreed. I prefer Amy's voice. Sounds more human.

I heard NW are bringing out a new album soon though.

Can't see why there are comparisons between Amy Lee and whatshername of Nightwish. Aside from the fact that both groups have female singers, they're very different.

Anyway, I'm not really a fan of Nightwish. Listened to a fair bit of their stuff but it's just not for me.

Fans of female-fronted metal should check out Lacuna Coil and - of course - Kiss Or Kill (www.myspace.com/kissorkilluk)

I bought Lacuna Coil "Comalies" and wasn't that impressed.

It seemed to be a bit repetative and did not have the massive production of Nightwish.

If I had heard Lacuna Coil first I would probably have thought they were great though.
