Reading today that the Standard Life flotation is likely to go ahead after all and that policy holders are set for a windfall.

Didn't bother me, as I don't have life insurance with them but this evening I checked my pensions and found both Mrs Leftie and I have a SL pension. :bounce: Then I thought, of that pension holders aren't being mentioned so perhaps it doesn't apply to those people

Does anybody know if pension holders will be getting the windfall too?

If not, I won't miss what I never had!

I believe the answer is YES, BUT they must be 'With Profits' funds that your money is invested in.......

Yours waiting hopefully

Hmmm... how about us borrowers? My mortgage is with them...

Edit: from the Sunday Herald website:

"Ned Cazalet, analyst at Cazalet Consulting, said: “What probably is no more than a minor arm-wrestle with the FSA over the endowment promise has somehow been conflated into world war three. To say the float will be delayed to 2007 [because of that] is bonkers."

CONFLATED?! What the f*** does THAT mean!?

I'd guess an ill-educated attempt at something between 'conflagration' and 'inflated'...

Lets not get too excited here, I have an old SL policy I have kept running, I wouldn't expect to receive any more than a conrubution to my car insurance and maybe a tank or two of optimax.

It seems that 'with profits' poicies get it. They are talking £1000, or to put it another way a second hand hard top for the Elise.
