'orrible smell in a car

Right, I'm driving around in an nice old car at the moment while mine is fettled. Its 25 years old and smells really 'old car + oil' inside, but the car itself isn't bad.

Whats the best way of getting rid? Washing the carpets and seats perhaps? I have to drive up to Edinburgh on Sunday, really don't fancy it....

Febreeze and some of those neutradol air freshners dotted around

See if your local dealer's valeters have a machine to remove bad smells, my last place had one, you plugged it into the mains, put it in the car with all the windows and doors shut and it filled the car with some kind of vapour which neutralised any smells.

The valeters used it on cars which smelt doggy or smokey, the two worst smells to get rid of.
