From what i can gather from his website he's attempting to walk across the artic ocean on his own with no support! Which seems a very brave, very silly and very English thing to do! I just hope he packs some thermals, i hear the weather can be very inclement in that part of the world!

next expedition in 352 days, 23 hours, 32 minutes

He's the same age as me, which makes me want to set off in search of adventure before its too late. Unfortunately I have a bit of a chesty cough at the moment...

Polar Ben is heading off to Antarctica to attempt the first return journey to the South Pole. At 1,800 miles it will be the longest polar journey of all time.

You can find out about it at www.south.com where you can also buy a mile of the journey, which I think is a small price to pay to support a fellow PHer!

You rang?

Next big expedition is to Antarctica, this time next year (www.south.com) but there'll be some time in Greenland and the high Arctic before that.

Travelling/training/working/writing/speaking like a madman at the moment...

Send 'em along and let them live it for real, see if they still like it after that

I heard he spent the entire time hiding on the Isle of Wight and is just very good at Photoshop. I'm sure I saw the background to some of those pictures in an old Nat Geo magazine. . . .

Thanks Jessica. We're planning to send back even more this time - daily diary entires, photos, audio/voice messages and perhaps even low-res video...
