Landscape gardening - Surrey - recommendation ?
Discussion
Tonker,
I have a Scenic Blue franchise here in Wiltshire, there are 40 of us around the country and I do have 2 colleagues in Surrey.

There is a branch locator on the website which will help you find my nearest colleague.
Hope that helps.

Well I can't comment on what you have been quoted but you should be expecting from a good landscaper:
Turf approx £10 Sq M Laid
Hard Landscaping approx £100 Sq M (less for gravel more for natural stone)
Planting (depends on your choice of plants)
Have just read your 1st post again. I would put money on it that the bulk of the cost is in the retaining walls, they are absolute buggers on cost. You could ask for them to be built out of new oak railway sleepers to reduce cost as your looking at 3ft.
PM me if you want some help and advice.

I know, I know, it seems like they're making a fortune and while you don't want to be the one fundng their new van/offices whatever, I'd say if you want a decent job, you'll have to pay the going rate - and if that's the going rate in Surrey, then so be it.
You're putting the money back into the local economy - be thankful
If you want to save a few grand, then roll up your sleeves, as you say you've got the holiday owing - I'm off for a fortnight now and would come and help you, but I've got my own front garden to do - which luckily is about a tenth the size of yours probably - I'll post before and after pics later

Just to make you feel even worse, when you get a Tree Surgeon involved, the costs start to go up for one reason INSURANCE.
We will not touch tree surgery/removal (unless I can pull it out with a Mini Digger. The insurance costs are herrendous.
As has already been suggested, skip hire is the bain of our life, mini digger charges are not must better. I have just finished a garden for £10.5K inc. VAT. I have already spent £1,700 of that on 6 8yd skips, 1 mini digger for 2 weeks, 1 tracked barrow for 2 weeks.
