Buying an M3 - re-sale question
Discussion
Hi chaps
I've always wanted an M3 and now have the funds to get myself one.
I've bid on several but the one I really want, (and have had a bid accepted on), is a little quirky. It's phoenix yellow with kiwi leather and has no sat nav.
While the colour and lack of nav doesn't bother me I wonder whether when I come to sell it, it will be difficult to sell on. All of my friends hate the colour - I love it - and say they'd never buy one.
Obviously I need to consider something as seemingly trivial as this because I don't want to be stuck with the car when I try and trade up to an M5 in a couple of years.
Views appreciated.
Cheers

There are a lot of M3's out there but they are a highly desirable car so there will always be a buyer, jsut depending on the price.
You would have a harder time selling it than a silver one with SatNav but if you are getting it cheap then you will be happier to sell it cheaper than others out there and so hopefully won't have too much hassle.

A relation of mine travelled half the country to get his M3 convertable in THAT colour. Personally I think it looks a bit yuck. but each to their own
Anyhow forget the colour and enjoy they are fantastic cars. The softtop is the quietest I have known with no buffeting or wind noise even at great speeds and the brakes. Bloody hell good or what!!

This is a simple one, it will entirely be down to price. You will sell it if you price lower than similar examples finished in silver or black.
Also you will need to knock £1k off the value due to the lack of sat nav.
I had an Oxford Green 2 one with no sat nav and 18's, I personally thought it looked great and I sold no problem at all but I had to price it lower than the boring silver alternatives.
I would say if you like it buy it.

Cheers for the replies chaps.
Still unsure about it if I'm honest. Decision must be made today though. My only other viable alternative is a higher priced, slightly newer, high mileage car in Estoril blue - it's a convertible though - not my cup of tea - although it does have a hard top. 45k miles on an 03/53 plate and it's had a few smacks as well as four windscreens!!!

I'm not entirely sure I like PY myself.
However, my M3 is what BMW call an "Individual" colour (atlantis blue), which definitely looks its best on a sunny day when parked in the BMW dealer's carpark alongside a whole bunch of tedious dark grey/silver/dark blue motors. PY does have the same effect.
