Ive never been one for reading but just recently i have come into possesion of some 40+ old books, some dating back to the 1800's.
I am quite enjoying going through them and reading the odd page and it reminds me off when i was a child looking through my fathers vast collection of books.
My question is if you were stuck some where for some time what old book would you choose to take with you and why,one choice.
Mine would be 'Jungle Book' by Rudyard Kipling and one my father has in his collection, because as a child i would read the odd page and it would be nice just to finish it.

'Full Throttle' - the story of Sir Henry 'Tim' Birkin.

A truly, truly great read but I've just never got around to finishing it!

Not really really old but Alfred Duggan (sp?) wrote some books back in the 50's. Fictionlized history around the time of the collapse of the Roman Empire.

They have aged very well.

I'm taking 'How to fashion a powered raft out of pubic hair in three easy steps'

On an even less funny note, I have a beautiful edition of Around The World in 80 Days - it's massive, with watercolour illustrations.
