Just wondering how long this has been a thing as I had never heard of it.
Just had a message to book one from GP.
Booked a flu jab but thinking I’ll give the pneumonia one a miss.

Pneumococcal vaccine - protects against pneumonia, meningitis, and sepsis - in those at risk.
Unlikely to give you much more than a sore arm. Get it on the other arm from the flu jab - if you decide to get it.

Quite a few years - and doesn’t just help with protection against pneumonia but also sepsis etc.
Offered at 65 along with the aorta scan and I think shingles too now ?

I too thought the shingles was at 70 but when I had my flu jab the other week the nurse said I could get it done on my 65th to coincide with my usual annual health MOT.

Did you get the aorta scan last year ?.
No it was two or three years ago. Booked my flu jab and will book pneumonia jab when the app releases some. Just had all bloods done and all good there!

I edited that question out as you had already said at 60 smile
Not too many fringe benefits of turning 65 but “ free “ aorta scan felt like a win !

if you phone your GP I'm sure they can get it arranged - I got the invite letter directly from the NHS a few weeks ago.
