Does anyone have any recommendations (and experiences and advice) regarding serviced addresses.

My business address is my home address which has never been an issue but ramping a few things up in the New Year and thinking that it might be time to use an address more befitting.

Do you mean the registered address at Companies House?

Well, that's a good question. I was thinking more the address that goes on the website. But is there any benefit of changing what's registered at Companies House?

You can Google Mantle Space. They have serviced offices in East Anglia, and there are loads of companies in London. Most will handle post for you; anything from Companies House, or use your accountant as the registered office. Good luck.

As above, I use my accountants address as the company's registered address. But for a website, it probably should be your own address - I'm not sure your accountant would want all of your letters heading his/her way.

Accountants offer this quite often... or find your local "Mailboxes ETC", for a serviced address and companies house address.

There are two different things here.

A service address is where you accept legal documentation. Generally your company s registered address. What I ve tended to do in the past is use either my accountants or lawyers.

A serviced office is a different concept. Usually an office you rent on a per desk or per room type basis and they manage the provison of services. I ve used them in the past for start ups to avoid the overheads and hassle associated with renting/setting up our own offices from the outset. Not all serviced office providers allow you to use their address as your company s registered office.

What I ve done in the past to avoid address being visible is:
1) A delivered PO Box - not sure if Royal Mail still offer them, but all mail to my company came in addressed to a PO Box, sorting office then packaged it up and delivered to the underlying address.
2) Used a serviced office, without taking physical space there, as the mailing address. Some providers will let you do that for very little money. They d receive the mail, put it in a pigeon hole, and I d drop by occasionally to collect. Had a fob to get into the building so could do it whenever passing.

Both have the effect of hiding your address from a casual customer, one gives something of an impression that you work from a particular site.
