Wasnt going to buy wife tickets to Nickelback as 1) not really a fan but mainly 2) TM are total scam shysters,
the "artist" is no doubt totally happily in bed with this, them or the venue.

I know from last time actually paid shy of £300 after fees shy of about £40 or so, was over £130 a ticket !!! supposed to have been £80 odd but no chance as soon as the sale started tickets were disappearing.

Well colour my surprised after getting onto presale and enough patience I got them for more like £80 each for 2,
was only going to get one but wasn't pushing my luck by going back and changing
Total including scam fees was less than £160 which was surprising

Begs to question though, WTF is going on with their silly pricing, or the venue...someone wants a very hard slap ?

Refuse to go to a gig where the only tickets are Ticketmaster after previous experiences.Going down the same route with AXS now.
In fact any tickets on a phone , Id glasshouse Gateshead and Concert Hall Glasgow can do paper tickets (emailed to me ) then so can the rest!

Passed up on the one for Manchester, too expensive at ~£170/ticket where last month in the same block tickets for Spiritbox were ~£70.

Good point. Only relented in this case as they eventually seemed to offer face value ticket £66 minus the BS fees, and made a woman very happy ( not me lol)
Result not cheap at under £160 for 2 tickets but still as good as you expect from this mob.

Definitely agree on this and it was AXS for a Europe/Gun venue in Wolverhampton she also wanted and that was far better economy and less BS on random ticket pricing.

My preference, gigs like Katatonia and Opeth have been as cheap as £33 for a whole raft of bands on occasion in the last few !

They need taking to task, if they were on the high seas this would be piracy !

The art seems to be on dismissing the pricing and keep going back. First available were like 124, 145, 155, 180, 190, VIP skys the limit

Told her screw that she wasn't going biggrin lol and she was in a huff, took it easy and checked again in lunchtime and for some strange reason started then offering me tix from £80 on a few cases, although the first ones reported gone....

Patience game? Or more to their potential malpractices ?

Tried to get tickets with AXS for Hailey Williams for the, total shambles.
Don't know how anyone manages it. Bots?

Wanted to see Slipknot, ticketmaster...£144 each...before fees for terrible seated tickets.

It's a bit of a fingers up to the fans I feel

Ticketmaster/Live Nation are total scammers, done legally

We have a venue close to us that is owned by Live Nation and along with the surge pricing they have their fingers in everything that goes on within the venue including the artists merch.

Tickets for Graham Nash were more than 10 times the normal price of entry once the small number of cheaper preorder tickets had been sold in the blink of an eye

I posted in the 'Classics from the Mrs' thread at the time, but Mrs Abc is a little naïve at times to say the least.

Paul Heaton tickets released a few months ago. I was in the pub at the time so left it in her capable hands with a card. Long story short she paid £170 a ticket for 4 tickets because she thought thats what they were.

I THINK they are actually still available direct from Paul Heaton for the retail of about £50pp. I daren't look.

Ticketmaster were having none of it when requesting a refund!

The number of "presales" must have some hand in their strategy for price gouging.
Artist presale, then other party presales, I think no less than 5 !

Both the bands and the entities involved seem to have some hand, reducing number of overall shows and capacity is limited so what does that mean, always over demand and under supply works for them.

Inevitable though I wonder as the cost of living gets harder and harder for many, aren't they going to start to see some fail to sell out all the tickets for these things?
I think to some degree the more commercial ( or sell outs as I call them) do play this game in their favour. I have much more respect for the bands I like ( not hers as above) who also deeply value even the venues they play and it truly is a one off event....reverant and significant

Not the usual baked bean tin approach

True but that was the cheapest you could have found ! £66 before any inclusive taxes, trust me.
Yeah I hate it, as a Nickelback enabler went to earlier gigs in their history pre todays level of inflation
I recall around £35 odd tickets "back in the day"....
bit easier to listen to as well with less poppy st and they wouldn't have been playing alongside doing Oasis covers.....

Ironically a few years ago been to multi band events around that value £35 ( Uprising ) although they weren't big known bands
(Katatonia, Brujeria, Breed 77, Discharge, Cellar Darling, Ramage Inc, Forlorn, Lastelle, Sugar Horse, Seething Akira, Tribe Of Ghosts, Mage, Battalions, Hang The bd, Foul Body Autopsy, Akilla, Voidwalker)
Even less well known nowadays not heard of a single one for their 2027, I'd heard of Discharge and Breed77

Even a day ticket ArcTanGent when Opeth were headlining wasn't that much I think that was in the same order of value.

Worst are bands like GnR/ Aerosmith people will pay through the nose for that nostalgia. although the latter health less likely to ever be doing mainstream tours from what I heard
