I am planning to visit Birmingham in mid November with friends for two nights.

Anyone with any Premiere Inn parking experiences at the New Street, Waterloo St or Exchange Square locations? We will have one hire car and luggage.

Our usual go to has been the Holiday Inn Express Snow Hill.

I am looking at other options that allow an easy walk into the city.

Thanks

Park at Birmingham International and take a train in?

Or maybe the bull ring car park or Mailbox. You are going to have a bit of a walk from any of them I think.

I usually park on the street near Snowhill or in the Snowhill car park if streets are full.

I normally use the Mailbox carpark if staying overnight in Birmingham never had, or seen, any issues.

For a budget hotel the Ibis Styles Birmingham Central has a pretty good underground carpark. Stayed there a few times and again never had any issues.

Look at B4 parking. Secure, central location and right in the city centre.

Avoid the Premier inn on New Street, it's crackhead alley.

It's very budget dependant really as there are some nice hotels but they're pricey. I'd personally stay outside Birmingham and train it in

What are you hoping to do when you visit?, 2 full days in the city centre?

3 of us are going to the Classic Car Show at the NEC on the Saturday, but travelling up from the South Coast on the Friday. We usually like to be within walking distance of the city to enjoy some bars and pubs in the evening.
Thanks for the idea of staying just outside the city and training in. I am going to look into some options.

You could look at staying Solihull, plenty of bars and places to eat in the town centre.

You can train it into Birmingham city centre for a visit but you're closer to the NEC.

You would have to jump on a train into Birmingham and then come back out on a train to get to the NEC. Or park for the day or get an Uber etc, I think there's a bus that can can get you there from Solihull as well.

I would agree with the above poster for Solihull. It is closer to the NEC and you get the same sort of bars and restaurants to Birmingham. Consider Knowle, Dorridge and Lapworth too.

The car park at the Mailbox is the best in Birmingham. It's pretty expensive if you just turn up, but if you book in advance it's much cheaper, and you'll often find a discount code if you google too.

Personally I wouldn't stay in Solihull. It's bit closer geographically but you'll have to drive to the NEC and park there in some remote car park, or get public transport (a bus - there is no viable train). Whereas the train from New Street to the NEC takes 10 minutes and the service is very frequent.

I would agree about the Q Park. The Malmaison is also nice.
