Hi,

Does anyone know if the new style Renault Multimedia/infotainment stalk thingy will fit into the Alpine A110.

I have no problem with the current one or the functionality but the new one is just a bit more aesthetically pleasing and seems to have the same functionality.

Thanks.

I got one of these from technisep

Its expensive but the profile allows the long legged to get their knees up and closer to the wheel.

Thanks for your response.

That’s quite interesting, how do you find it? I really like the way the current one functions so would rather not change that.

I’m not blessed with long legs so don’t have to worry about space either.

Yeah, Its good, works just like the OG, and is constructed with metal buttons and spinny-thing.

Can you still mute by pressing both volume buttons. One of my favourite functions of the OEM one

Yep, all the same functions just smaller.

What does the big spinny thing on the top do?

My guess would be it’s the track skip wheel that’s on the back of the OEM one but I didn’t actually look into.

I have a leased Scenic E Tech daily coming at the start of next year so going to see if the stalk fits and if I can just change them over leave it and see if they notice when I hand it back in 3 years smile

Must admit, I quite like the stalk thingy. Isn’t it from a 2012 Cleo or something?

The volume control actually feels really nice and smooth on the OEM stalk, saying that the aftermarket option above looks really great. I wonder how the buttons and wheel feel, as some of those buttons and wheels have a bit of play which makes them feel rattly to use?

I agree with you, I like the stalk and all its functionality, it’s just not ascetically pleasing and the plastic feels a bit horrid.

The one on the Scenic E Tech seems to function the same but looks and feels a bit nicer, I’ll let you all know if it’s a straight swap once I have the scenic.

The aftermarket one looks okay but I prefer the stalk and I don’t like the price. The Scenic stalk will at least still be somewhat OEM.

Here's a picture I took a while ago after my car came back from the dealer & the stalk wasn't working. It might be helpful when comparing other Renault stalks.

Thanks, I’m hoping it’s a plug and play type situation but I can’t find any on the aftermarket. Maybe I’ll speak to the Renault parts department and see how much they are and if they can send me the schematic.

Looks like I might have just found one actually. The connector looks the same too.

Although it looks like it only has the source buttons and not the phone buttons.

The connector on the Alpine has 2 rows of 3 pins whereas the one on Ebay does not. The A110 uses CAN to communicate, so you need to find one that does that too. If it's made by Renault, uses the same connector & uses the CAN bus, then there is a decent chance it's compatible as I doubt they would reinvent the protocols. It would be unfortunate if the button mapping was all mixed up.

Here are much better pictures of (what I assume to be) a good copy, if not an original.

You might be able to move the switches/electronics into a stalk that has the dimensions you require, & even graft the mounting points if they don't match. That AliExpress one is so cheap the biggest investment will be your time.
