Sorry for the terrible picture do we think this will be GU10 fitting?

It's my outdoor porch, will a new bulb need to be IP rated?

Just pop the lamp out to check, no point guessing.
If it should be IP rated is another question, If it were me I probably would put one if it's outside.
The fitting itself is IP rated not the lamp.

I don’t think the bulbs themselves are ever IP rated, as far as I know that only applies to the fittings.

You can get IP65 downlight fittings (and they use normal bulbs) but that just looks like an ordinary fitting - if it is, it’s probably not supposed to be used outside, but it’s not in a place where it’s going to get wet.

Given those external clips holding the bulb in in might be an GU5, which would also make sense for outdoor use as they're 12V. Unless those clips are to hold a waterproof cover on. The only way you're going to know is to take it out.

I meant to say that too, although I know the 12V ones better as MR16.

You can get mains GU10 fittings with clip but I don’t think they’re common. Anyway, easy enough to drop it out.

If it is 12V it could be the driver that’s failed, rather than the bulb.
