Ann Widdecombe murder suspect, Joshua Kerry, 28, charged with terror offences against Nigel Farage after home firebombed

Perhaps if Police had dealt differently with the allegations made by Farage she might have been alive today

Left wing extremism seems to be the one that leads to murder.

Political extremism leads to murder, there are numerous examples from left and right, point scoring on the matter is contemptable.

What ALL the allegations? I mean, everything he has said, everything he has accussed people of? That's a lot of dealing. Did you have something specific in mind, perhaps something where, for a change, he was specific?

Farage will make political capital out of this I'm sure, like he has done with her muder. No need for others to do the same.

Jo Cox’s murderer might disagree.

There was a report of a crime which the Police investigated

Police classified the arson at Farage's home as an attempted burglary and closed the case

A subsequent review by CTP found the CCTV evidence that was missed/not checked in the initial enquiry which led to this charge

At least one member of police staff is now suspended and under investigation for gross misconduct for failing to check the CCTV

If they had then maybe AW would still be alive today

I have thought about it. Dehumanising ones political opposition to the point that murder is an acceptable way to deal with them seems to very much be a thing in the extreme left wing sphere right now, hence the comparisons you see online where people say the left are now 'acting like the Nazis'

And the list seems pretty big of late:
- Trump attempted assassination
- Charlie Kirk assassination
- healthcare CEO assassination
- Anne Widecombe

All those who suggested he made it up or it didn't happen will be coming on to admit they got it completely wrong no doubt.
More two tier policing writ large. If only the police spent more time investigating actual crime rather than falsely arresting people for Internet posts they may have prevented Anne's death.

Left wing extremism seems to murder due to a hatred of their opposition.

Mair may be a poster boy for the left to counter the right, and may have been right wing, but he had severe mental health issues even to the extent of seeking help for a MH crisis the night before he killed Jo Cox.

The left wing attacks listed above just appear to be due to aggressive hatred as evidenced by Kerry going from person to person to cause harm ... no

Like the famous lefty Thomas Mair? Or were you thinking of the famous lefty Anders Breivik?

For those trying to point score with political terrorism, M15’s say their terrorism work is:

1) Islamic

2) Extreme-right wing

No one's trying to score points but some would like less MI5 activity on Yaxley-Lennon & Thomas and more on Kerry and anarchist groups and palestine disruptive groups who visibly are rarely catagorised as terrorist but activists eg Elbit incident ...!

Good thing this guy was caught arrested so quickly and subsequently charged but obviously we now need to understand what happened with Farage and if there was any way this guy could or should have been caught sooner.

I'm not sure it's reasonable to automatically assume that something that looks like arson might be what this now looks like - but if the Police didn't do basic due diligence that isn't right either.

Presume it's now with the IOPC or someone suitable to look into what level of investigation was done and if any corners were cut v what would usually be done.

Regardless of any of that thankfully an absolute nut job is now off the streets and from the sound of it hopefully own't be back on them for a very long time (if ever).

Crying wolf won't have helped Farage.

He doesn't hold face to face surgeries in his constituency citing "advice" from the Speaker's office. The Speaker has denied this and Farage has provided no proof.

He didn't attend the result at the Clacton by-election, saying there was a terrorist threat. The police denied this. In fact if there was a credible threat why did he leave other candidates to face it?

I think the summary of that is that Farage is a ste MP, can't be arsed with the actual role of an MP to represent his constituents and his constituents are mostly too dim to realise as they've voted for a ghost who couldn't give a damn about them. They are just useful and manipulatable idiots to get him a platform without having to worry too much about him having to do much for them in return. It doesn't take much of a genius to work out why Clacton might be such a hole. The population don't demand anything of their MP to help improve anything. If representation worked as it should, Farage should be way to busy responding to the demands of his electorate to fight for all manner of improvements and bring some vibrancy to the area. Instead, he's probably just told them it's all brown people and that letting him bang that drum nationally (to advance his own cause) is the best thing they can let him do. Fools.

Not that any of those people would have the faintest idea about the allocation of MI5 resources

Fixed that for you.

As to the OP, good that the perp has been charged. As to whether the wider area CCTV should have been checked, I think an honest stand back review would find that the police had insufficient resources to investigate the minor burglary given what they knew at the time, despite Farage being a Politically Exposed Person, but hindsight now demands this person be hung out to dry.

Agreed. Why we need to be pulled together as a country not divided. And that partly falls down to political leadership and decency of the electorate.
