So it looks like I could be made redundant at the end of Nov frown Currently driving a 24 Ipace HSE (which we love) on sal sac scheme, this would need to be returned following the seperation.

What other EV's to be considered upto 25k? Another IPace isn't out of the question, Tesla's certainly are (tho they would be the logical choice). Mainly local journeys, with the odd longer thrown in (we're not adverse to charging for 25-30mins at a coffee/toilet stop). We have been spoiled with the Jag - heated everything (and cooled seats), decent hifi (V imp), comfortable. It must also be higher (i.e. no low slung coupes - age is becoming a bugger, we also have an aged Aunty that lives with us).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you considered BMW i4 eDrive40? May need to stretch the budget a little to get a good one though.
I've just switched from a well specced one to an I-PACE R-Dynamic HSE Black.
They're actually fairly similar spec-wise, though the i4 is very 'BMW'.

You can get brand new Skoda Elroqs for about 26/27k at the moment.

Also nearly new KIA EV4.

Obviously if you need/want something bigger/flashier it'll be older at that budget.

Really rather don't like the interior styling, just way too bland. As I say, logically, superior efficiency than almost everything else, just not the greatest place to sit in....

I'm a serial BMW owner, had seen some i4's in budget - but, they're just too low slung (shame really as they would be a serious option)

Point taken on the Tesla interior but if you weren't aware you might want to look at the PCH offers that are on.

Ridiculously cheap though end of November probably isn't viable.

iX1 would seem ideal then.

Ford Explorer is in budget, 300 miles plus in summer, 250 min in winter. Much better driver's car than the other MEB vehicles.

A Polestar 2 is in budget, look for one with Plus and Pilot packs for the hifi, heated steering wheel and rear seats and ACC.
You could seek out a post-facelift single motor for the longer range, or a pre-facelift dual motor will be easier to find in budget and with both packs.
Ventilated seats only with the leather interior which is rare.

The Plus pack seats are very good and take the sting out of the slightly firm ride. It's a bit like an i4 in shape but sits a bit higher so isn't too bad to get in and out I think.

If your in an employment postion where any future employer is likely to also be offering Sal Sac i'd be considering a cheaper personal lease for 2yrs - Kick the can down the road so to say

I'll give the boring answer, based on a whole load of assumptions and no offence meant...

Especially not knowing your financials (if you are buying for up to £25k, a typical bank loan limit), something with a long warranty would be my pick.

You can get a nearly new MGS5 with a 7 year 80,000 mile warranty, yes its Chinese, but its established Chinese and its backed by SAIC. I would suggest that parts availability etc are no worse than any other brands, especially coming from a Jag.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202602109...

Granted very much a head over heart choice, but keep it for a year or two with a 7 year warranty it is never going to be worthless I reckon it will retain enough value that if circumstances change you wont really lose. I mean one with 4 x the miles is £1k less...

I'd want flexibility rather than being tied to payments for a cheap car for an extended period personally. Even the cheapest of 2.year lease deals is going to cost £7k or so for a practical car and reasonable mileage allowance.

The 2023 model-year Ioniq 5s seem to fit the budget (under 19k for RWD, 21k for AWD for the 77kW battery). Obviosly a marmite car, but we've liked ours. Just finishing the 4th year and approaching 60,000 miles on our AWD. The plan is to keep the car for a decade or so, so we went for the "Spartan" spec - top of the line might not feel like slumming.

Using proper chargers, the road trip coffees need to be quick(ish): sub-20 minutes from 10-80%, and it's not uncommon to see 230kW even at 50% SoC - no longer amazing, but still respectable. The number of coffees per trip depends heavily on how you interpret the speed limits.

The badge will give many on here the collywobbles but you'd be within striking distance of a new Hyundai Kona Ultimate if bought through a broker. The N line or N line S might even be under £25K.

Ioniq 6 from 22k for a 2023 model.

Mustang Mach E is really good value used, massive deprication but the car itself is as good as any other EV.

OP can have plenty of change left as a 21 plate can be had for £17k!!

The iX3 is also an option, it's a much underrated car and from around 18k. .I have an iX and they don't really come alive unless you go for a few options, or maybe thats just my FOMO where if the model range has options, I want them smile

Thought about Ioniq 6 - fewer coffees than with an Ioniq 5 on long trips. However, OP's "no low slung coupes" criteria didn't seem like a good match. I excluded the KIA EV6 for the same reason (having sat in one).

Ioniq 6 is even lower to the ground, but is it easier to get in (and out) than it seems?
