MrsLT got a note yesterday saying that some of our skiing flights have been moved from Chambrey to Lyon, supposedly as the result of Chambrey deciding to accept fewer UK flights due to limited EES capacity. This was something of a surprise given reports a couple of weeks ago that EES could be temporarily suspended.

The flight time changes and longer transfers don’t affect us massively on the trip in question but, if you’re booked on flights to/from Chambrey, may be worth checking if they’re affected.

Airlines are consolidating flights to increase profitability and due to reduced demand... EES is just an excuse.

any reason not to go through Chambery, ever again, will do for me.

Used to be lovely. Good while ago though. Innsbruck has improved a bit.

I've never really had a problem there. Sure, it's busy in ski season but that's pretty much to be expected at any small airport seeing a massive seasonal increase in traffic. Innsbruck isn't exactly convenient for 3V...

No it's not. Handy for Cham though lol. I recall going through Chambery about thirty years ago, it was easy to check in, drop off your baggage and at Easter sunbathe on the front lawn. Had to listen for the flight call, but what security there was was a breeze.

Totally agree , risk of airport closures due to fog is so high ! Happens most weeks I was told by the chalet staff .
